My office is silent, my boss isn't here and I have a giant case of the "I don't wanna"s. Let's meme.

We last did this one in January.

Tag in with your characters and then people will comment asking the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR CHARACTERS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. Anakin was one of your first characters in the game. What's the secret to his longevity in the game?

Having canonmates and other to bounce off of him, honestly. His family is Full of Canon Drama and so having Luke, then Jaina, Anakin, and Ben around meant he had to be active, and Ahsoka and Kanan meant I had to keep up with the canon when SW pivoted from just the books. Having him teaching Ethics, which started off a billion years ago as a snarky joke, has meant he gets to push students out of their comfort zones and interact with them on a different level than just a flight class or a government course hits. So he's gotten to become the grouchy uncle to a few of them over the years as well: Raven, Karla, Nina and Rey most recently.

He's also a character who's just fun to poke at. He takes himself entirely too seriously, even now, and while he's been here fifteen years (!!!!), he still finds ways to surprise me.

Is there anything in particular you want to hit on with Anakin training Rey?

I have been learning a LOT about Anakin as he trains Rey because he has become a little (not a ton because it's still Anakin and "self-aware" isn't exactly his strong suit) more introspective. He thought he knew how the beats in the story go because of Tahiri, Ben, Jaina, and Anakin in various versions over the years and Rey and Kylo Ren have him shaken up.

And Luke. He'd kind of like to kick Luke just a bit.

He was so used to cruising on the idea that while bad things would happen and there didn't seem to be a way for him to stop it (Anakin's death, Mara's death, Jacen's fall), it all worked out okay. With Rey's story, he has no idea and I think that's making him work harder to prepare her for whatever he can think of. He's having to remember how to think like the Dark Side in order to get her to defend from it after spend a good decade ignoring that part of his past.

So I would *like* for him to be able to past along the power and the allure of the Dark Side without it getting into two-dimensional scare tactics, but I don't think I'm a good enough writer to accomplish it.

First off, you're amazing. Also she's been too good and needs to do something a little dark so we can tooootally work with this.

Timezones are a thing again and all of our brains coming back from *waves at the everything* but I miss threading with Len, Bron, and Corrie from when I was more awake when they were awake.

In general, I need to stop hiding from big common rooms and stuff with my students. Tahani needs to make more frenemies!
