SPRING 2023 CLASS SIGN UPS

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone! It's time to sign up for your Spring 2023 Classes! These sign-ups are for all students, and the Community Center classes are for all characters!

Please read the following before you start signing up:

1) Teacher and Student Class Expectations! The all important guideline for what is expected of the players in Fandom High. Please give it a once-over even if you've seen it in some form or other before - consider it a good thing to click and read while I put up the OCD!

2) Japanese characters, please sign up in the Western style - given name, then family name - to make our alphabetical OCDing easier.

3) PC classes are those taught by a teacher character, the things you're signing up for here, as opposed to the NPC classes, which you may handwave taking so that your student hasn't taken three classes for their entire high school experience.

The Important Stuff About Signing Up For Classes

1) Each student character MUST sign up for at least 2 PC classes. Since we've removed the cap on characters, we have also removed the cap on the number of classes your characters can sign up for, but please consider your RL ability to keep up before chucking a character at every class we're offering.

2) If you're a TA for a class, you still need to sign up for that class. It will count towards your minimum 2. Please note TA-ship in the sign-up for easy of making the class lists accurate. Teachers: please refrain from having your own character act as the TA as it defeats the purpose of having a back-up player to post for you!

3) If it's OOC for your character to take a class but you really want to take it anyway, just sign them up and we'll pretend it was an IG paperwork mishap.

4) If you sign up, you need to show up. Class attendance is how we keep track of your character's activity. If you repeatedly fail to at least sign in to your classes, we'll have to contact you about it, and you could be asked to leave the game.

5) Class descriptions are subject to change at the teacher's discretion.

And now we get to what you really want to see: The Spring Classes!!!!

FH class sign-ups will close at 11:59pm Eastern on Friday, December 30th and are considered IG knowledge for your small-talking at the welcome picnic convenience.

General FYI: Feel free to make changes to your class choices as long as you do it before the deadline. We use the final pings in each thread to make the class lists, not the email notifs. MONDAY

MON: Period 1: Smith: Life Skills

Hey! Don't go through life on Hard Mode! Pick up some real life skills and life hacks to make even the most annoying of 'adulting' activities easy with this class! Each week, you'll learn a different Life Skill that will make your life easier, everything from personal care, personal finance, personal relationships, and personal...well, life!

...ugh, seriously, who writes this crap? Is that what we're going for? Really? Ugh, okay, fine, whatever, sure, slap on that corny description bullshit, although, really, the whole thing should just say: Life sucks. Get gud. Take my class. The fact that I've survived this long is proof that I'm doing something right....right?

MON: Period 2: Hendrickson: Practical Wilderness Survival

You may be able to survive the concrete jungle but can you survive a few days in the woods without a map, tent, or *gasp* a working cell phone!?!?! This class will give you the basics to survive in the wild. You will learn how to fight dehydration and hypothermia, ward off wild animals, and survive on your own out in nature- at least till help arrives and you spend the next few days hugging your cell phone and computer.

MON: Period 3: Scientia: Sensory Deprivation Combat Training

To be skilled in combat, it is wise to utilize all the skills and senses you have at your disposal. But what if you were unable to make the most of all your senses in the heat of battle? This class intends to prepare for the unlikely and perhaps unthinkable, and in learning how to better fight without depending on certain sense often taken for granted, make you a stronger combatant in the long run and perhaps even hone skills you previously did not realize you were capable of possessing.

MON: Period 4: Pryde-Barton: Interpretive Dance

In this class, you'll learn to express your music appreciation through interpretive dances. There are no wrong answers!

TUESDAY

TUE: Period 1: Blackstone & Diaz: Basic Weaponry

WEAPONS! We all love 'em. Most of us use 'em on a regular basis, or maybe some of us just have an interest in them, but, wherever you are on your weaponry journey, this class will give you a good, comprehensive run down of various types of weapons, how they came about, and how to best use them. From two experts coming from different angles in the weapons game, there's no way you're coming out of this class without a confidence in your knowledge of all things weaponry!

TUE: Period 2: Beniko: Topics in Jedi Philosophy

Come and learn about one of the major philosophies behind Force usage, and how it differs and/or doesn't from Sith beliefs.

TUE: Period 3: Solo: Intro to Spaceship Maintenance

Students in this class will get the opportunity to learn the basics of maintenance for starships on a few types of ships from one particular galaxy. If you've ever wanted to see what makes a spaceship tick, this is the class for you!

TUES: Period 4: Aphra & Isabela: Sexier Crime, the Show

You've tried your hand at sexy crime, now it's time to kick things up by witnessing sexier people doing sexier crime, sexily!

WEDNESDAY

WED: Period 1: Rogers & Stark: Art is for Everyone

An art class that even Tony can do.

Working with a variety of media, students will get to immerse themselves in fine art. We plan to cover everything from pencil drawing to oil painting to those weird blank canvasses Steve swears really mean something!

WED: Period 2: Argentum: Photography 101

Calling all shutterbugs! Or even just anyone with even a flash of in interest in the photographic arts! Photography 101 is here to show you all the ins and outs of taking the best pictures! From beautiful landscapes to adorable pets to the most Instagram-worthy selfies, a picture can be worth a thousand words...and this class will definitely be worth your time if you want to learn more. We'll cover different techniques, different cameras, and even different career opportunities that involve photography! It'll all be right here, in Photography 101!

WED: Period 3: Sims: All About Tea

Come compete to be the very best home baker in a tent. It's... it's probably best to consider your teachers more as hosts than teachers on this subject matter.

THU: Period 2: Kyōraku: Creative Writing

Ahh~, they say the pen is mightier than the sword, but, just like the sword, in able for one to wield one's pen effectively, one must be properly trained ♥. But we all have a story to tell...or several, in most cases, and here is the place to tell it ♥! This course will focus on writing techniques, crafting a narrative, and telling tales through the great art of creative writing ♥!

THU: Period 3: Sidon: Hylian Bestiary

Come explore that vast world of fantastical and fascinating beasts that roam the far-distant land of Hyrule in this comprehensive overview of creatures, critters, and cryptids! Come meet animals of sea, air, and land! Learn of everything from the most common squirrel to the most legendary monsters in an exciting voyage lead by none other than the most traveled and worldly Zora in all of Hylian history! If you're a fan of cute animals, fearsome beasts, and majestic creatures, you won't want to miss out on this class!

These classes are offered for all characters--townies, teachers, and students--to take. Because it's more casual, it's not essential to sign up for it here to attend, but it's nice to give the players an idea of participation levels.

TUES (PM): Smith & Stark: Baked Baking

Welcome to Baked Baking with Summer and Stark! This class will feature questionable recipe choices brought to you by your instructors drawing inspiration from a variety of...influences. When it comes to food under the influence, anything goes. Join your instructors and classmates to discover whether or not these recipes can earn high marks even if you aren't high. Brought to you by the same people who once thought Dew-rito cupcakes sounded like a good idea (at the time).
