We're gonna take advantage of me not being in the office today. Here's a meme we last did in September

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will Wall-of-Text if they want to, look, I know how some of you are answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.

Questions might include "Which of your characters are you the most like?", "Which BDE was your favorite?", "What music do you RP to?", etc.

Do you find yourself playing certain tropes a lot? What are they?

Soft squishy cinnamon rolls, badass women who can kick a lot of ass, big giant dudes with hearts of gold, emotionally-stunted/unavailable savants, and a remarkable amount of teenagers that, through circumstances or self-doubt, have little to no friends.

The fact that I currently have at least two of each of these categories, I believe, says a lot.

Are there any types of characters you can't play?

Quiet, stoic types. Especially grumpy, quiet, stoic types.

But I do love watching them on TV hot damn.

I was trying to keep it at three since my RP brain fell out but, uh, oops.

Are there any characters/fandoms you're surprised we haven't seen in the game?

I was really weirded out we'd never had Magicians characters back when I apped Margo?

Otherwise, not really. Maybe Warrior Nun, but I suspect I'm the number one person likely to app from that if any, but like 60% of my pop culture awareness these days is video games and I'm always happily surprised when people app from those.

Are there any aspects of your characters (hobbies, dialogue, things they could teach) that you find difficult to play with?

How powerful Wanda is can be hard to deal with at times. I generally make sure she's away for BDEs and such because of it.

For Eddie -- I know nothing about D&D outside of listening to The Adventure Zone.

Other than that, lol, Chloe/Lucifer is a terrible ship and Chloe hasn't been a well-rounded character since at best season 1.

Is there anything in particular that you'd like to see more of in the game as a whole?

This is more on a meta level but since the game started there's been developments in the RPG world that have created tools and ideas both on an inter-player level and on a narrative idea level that could possibly be useful.

The X card is one example of something that might be useful on an interplayer level. Or like this article has ideas about ways to encourage player interaction which can apply to all kinds of RPGs, not just MUDs.

To be clear, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the game and omg why are we doing X when we could do Y instead. Just that since other RPG ideas have come up over the years that could apply to an FH style game I'd be interested to see if there actually are. Like something none of us would've thought of on our own but when we read it we're like "Holy shit! Why didn't we think of this??" you know?

Favorite character relationships in the game? Both your own and other characters you follow/ship.

Love my own fake (friend)ships: Nancy and Eddie, Wanda and Annie, Buck and (Elaine's) Eddie, Jane and Wanda. Diego/Annie is such a comforting go-to that I can play a thread with that any day.

Outside of me I like reading Summer and Steven, Amaya and Irene, and Yennefer and Jaskier.

Do you 'fix' canon in your catchups? Do you have plans for anything you might tweak if/when you take your character through their canon?

Do you want to see some of the dumbest, most ridiculous shit in your entire life that won't traumatize you forever because it's on network TV? Then 9-1-1 is for you.

Like, that and Riverdale, I love telling people the plots and being like "yes, that actually happened".

Tell me about a favorite scene of yours and why you loved playing it/going back to reread it/etc.

I'm really proud of a lot of stuff that's come out of canon catchups with this girl, which isn't exactly surprising, but my favorite things are almost always the things with FH characters surrounding the canon stuff. I love Annie and Diego's weird, uncomfortable smut from when she was still keeping the Deep thing to herself, and I loved the scene where she told Summer about it. I also go back to Believe Expo a lot, because I'm still so impressed at how much everyone put into it.

In terms of other people's -- read, Sam's -- catchups, I'm also really fond of the scene where Diego thought he was about to go die at the hands of his brother (who instead just took out the rest of the world) and called Annie from that bowling alley, and the resulting aftermath post once he didn't die. I don't reread it often because I have enough reasons to cry in my life, tho. And I have already reread all of Multiverse of Madness, partially because Annie's been talking about that stuff ICly lately, but also because I'm just real proud of how well that all came together.

I'll play it out but don't you dare tell me you're reading it. Even if you're the partner I'm playing it out with, I'm pretending you're just guessing what to write next and didn't actually read what I wrote.

If there's not a reasonable dynamic of conflict (big and small, emotional and otherwise) followed by comfort I get bored.

Who's your hardest to play these days?

Jesse. I loved her understatedness for being very different from all of my other characters but it also makes it insanely hard to play her, because really she just wants to sit in a back room and watch weird movies and go through weird paperwork.

Do you get bleed? How do you handle it?

Nope. I cried a little while writing some of Wanda's plot but that was more me feeling bad for the character than, like, feeling any emotion for myself.

But, no, generally I don't acknowledge feelings exist (I'm kidding. Kind of).

Do you hurt your characters for the hell of it? Or do you have guidelines for how and when you do it?

There's got to be a reasonable chance that the hurt will be a catalyst for something positive in the future. In case of many of my recent characters, they already have that in their canon (like Lucifer's spiral after God comes to Earth).

It's why Atton's life became a trauma train for a while, too, because I was trying to push him out of the personal hell he had resigned himself to and he was just refusing to. Over and over again.
