Meme: Year-End Roundup!

Well, it's the last weekday of this calendar year and we haven't done this meme yet. It's been slightly over a year since the last time and I felt like posting it, so here we go.


The basics:

This is gonna work like a questions meme: Players respond ICly to questions about THIS LAST YEAR OR UPCOMING YEAR. For instance, "Who's someone you're glad you met this year?" or "What are your new year's resolutions?" or "What are you looking forward to in the coming year?" All answers are IC, nothing's gained IG from this but fun.

What was the best thing that happened to you this year?

Surely some of you had big events?

Don't let anyone know, least of all my roommate, but... sitting down to start writing my own lyrics.

It's cathartic. The best thing about it? It didn't happen to me. I just did it.

Officially started dating Cutter... *blushing grin* that's def been a highlight of the year.

Summer told me she loved me. That was...very important.

Last year, I got to say I saved the world.

This year is even better.

You know, I was initially torn on answering this question, but fortunately, I reread the question. Kothophed's demise didn't happen to me, I happened to Kothophed.

Which means that I am able to use this question to acknowledge the other unabashedly good thing that 2023 brought me, one that was not firmly within my own locus of control.

What was the worst thing that happened to you this year?

There's always a few of these...or more than a few.

... probably a fight I got into with my roommate about being at Fandom too much.

You know what? It's been a pretty calm and okay year, for my standards. Huh.

Gee, that's a tough one, but I think I'm gonna have to say that being trapped in and tortured by a house for two weeks straight is pretty high up there...

What are you most looking forward to next year?

More gigs. Playing our own music.

Finally walking away from home and the island and all that comes with it.

And what are you dreading in the coming year?

House arrest for the first few months of the year isn't exactly how I had imagined starting things off if I am honest.... but will get through it!

There hasn't been a lot of kissing in my life for a while now.

On purpose, mind you. I've got too much stuff to work through, first.

I was very busy during pollen week this year.

With Travis and Eric and Raiden and Gladio and Margo.

I don't think Summer counts as a hookup.

How are you planning on spending New Year's?

In a big hall somewhere in the city, playing a gig to a bunch of friends, friends-of-friends and friends-of-friends-of-friends. Maybe singing some songs that terrify me.

How did 2023 compare to 2022?

Well, I started 2022 singing sad karaoke and passing out on the floor of bars. I'm ending 2023 the same way I ended 2022 and started 2023, though: in a place that feels like home, with people I care about, doing something I love.

Did a lot more work inside my head than I expected, whereas 2022 was a lot of trying to get back on my feet.

So not bad.

Yes, two... and I still miss them actually.

Any regrets from 2023?

There are always regrets.

How did you celebrate your birthday this year? How old are you now?

I still don't know how old I am. This was the first year I had a birthday. Summer gave me a party and it was wonderful.
