Meme: Bland Headcanons: A Day in the Life
I'm going to spend the first part of my day being anxious and annoying, and things have been kinda quiet, so I went and adapted the Bland Headcanons meme we last did in 2015.
What are your characters doing all day? Do they have a routine? Is there anything they do every day? Every week? Are they at work even when you don't manage to post?
You can be as vague or specific if you want. Whether you want to break it down by a timed schedule or just state a bit of what their day is like, let's hear it!
So yeah, if you want to say "They spend a lot of time on a regular day reading, and they go to work on Mondays and then after they get off in the late afternoon they eat dinner and go to bed immediately," that's cool. If you want to do something like:
6:00 am: Wake up
6:09 am: Hit snooze again
6:18 am: Hit snooze again
6:19 am: Scream into the void
7:00 am: Breakfast
That's cool too! It's whatever your brain is up to. Do these examples say anything about my mental state? Yes! Why do you think I'm posting a meme?

Rey Skywalker
-Almost always spends a couple hours a day training, whether it's physical or meditation or trying a new skill. Depends on how she's feeling. She does occasionally skip days but won't make a regular thing out of it.
-Sometimes stops at the Perk afterwards as a treat. She doesn't need coffee every day but it's nice.
-Usually spends at least some time deciphering some of the old Jedi texts she's got. Yes, she's still working on it, it's a slow-ass process.
-Probably eats twice a day, and at home the majority of the time except for Thursdays.
-Typically a shower person though she's still in the bath habit.
-Tries to talk to people back home daily but that doesn't always work out.
-Goes to work on Sunday. Does tend to get coffee every week there just to see the gremlins.
-Has class Tuesday.
-Tries to get to Caritas weekly on Wednesdays
except when RL is doing a thing, why is it always Wednesdays.-Goes to Supper Club Thursdays. She's getting more comfortable on the mainland so she might even go early.
-Trains with Anakin Fridays.
-Is going home at about once a month now
as my schedule allows, though it can be more often or less.-Tries to go to bed at a reasonable time unless she's working on something and then she's up way too late (but still going to training tomorrow).
Sabine Wren
-Prone to skipping breakfast, never skips coffee/caf.
-Goes to work Thursdays even though I'm bad at posting. Is usually bored.
-And class Mondays.
-Does a lot of reading. Fiction, non-fiction, she's here to learn and/or check out your art.
-Listens to a lot of music too.
-Has not broken her Duolingo streak since she's been back.
-Isn't doing the bigger art pieces now but she's probably sketched something or other. Or painted part of her walls again. Did she have to give a security deposit? If so she's never getting it back.
-Heads out to the bars when she's bored because there's not much else to do.
Bucky Barnes
-- He's got some meditation/mindfulness stuff Ayo wants him to do while he's away from Wakanda, which he probably tries to get out of the way in the morning - even though it's not like he has a ton going on that he needs to rush to.
-- He "works" at the movie theater on random days, but mostly in the early parts of the week
largely for player reasons. Most of his time there is spent on listlessly making sure the concessions stand is up to snuff, or just sitting in the back of the auditorium watching the movie of the day (if it's one of the oldies). Ingrid continues to badger him about doing actual boss stuff, but he's really not interested, especially since she's clearly more suited to managing things than he is.-- When he's not at work, he's spending a lot of time in his apartment. He has most of the previous century to catch up on, so a lot of his time goes into going down random Wikipedia rabbit holes. Also he's not the most social of people, although he's trying to get better about it, now that he feels like he's on steadier ground.
-- His cooking skills are extremely rusty and from a whole different era of kitchen appliances, so he mostly orders in. Getting coffee in town also still feels like kind of a social triumph for him.
-- Every few weeks he goes to Wakanda to work on his HYDRA conditioning with Ayo (and Shuri, although she's more interested in the arm situation). Over there, his routines are even simpler, because it's just a whole lot of yet more meditation and sitting in his hut and letting the local kids mess with him. (Also he now has a trusted guy over there who cuts his hair.)
tl;dr: Bucky's days are quiet and most of everything happens inside his brain.
Octavia (Blake)
-- She did not used to be a coffee drinker. And she can still get going without it just fine, but since she's often the first one up she might as well make coffee, and since she's already making it she might as well also drink some, so...
-- Octavia is garbage at keeping to a yoga routine, but if/when she manages it, it's after breakfast. Or in between coffee and actual breakfast (also, so much of her breakfast is fruit it's not even funny).
-- The actual day/time specific routines Octavia has are therapy on Tuesdays (late morning, typically portaling out to the version of New York her therapist is based in) followed by a swim at a community pool she likes, work at the club on Wednesday nights (she's almost always there, even though I skip some posts), and then date nights with Duke on some Friday nights and with Lucifer on some Sunday nights. This is juuuuust about the right level of structure in her life to keep her feeling functional without veering into reminding her how strict the years down in the bunker were for her.
-- Everything else is pretty much freeform. She used to go into the preserve a lot, but has had to limit that to increments of less than an hour since she managed to catch a trouble that makes her skin kill plants, and the salve Pam made for her only works for so long. So now the preserve is less of a routine and more of a treat that needs to be prepared for. (Of course this is about to change, but shhhh preplay spoilers.)
-- Instead of roaming the preserve, Octavia has gone back to taking lengthy walks around the island. She probably has every cobblestone memorized by now, and is likely a familiar figure to many around town.
-- At home, she reads (often in implausible/impractical positions, a fact I do not make nearly enough mention of), tends to her garden on the deck (once it's time again), and plays the drums. And, you know, spends a lot of time with her two partners. A lot of time.
-- Definitely one of those people that Taste of Thai knows by name and typical order. She's trying to learn to cook, and lives with two people who are excellent at it and happy to do it for her, but also comfort takeout is important.
-- Octavia sleeps okay, most of the time. The nightmares like to resurface sometimes, but after this long, that's normal for her. She doesn't strive to go to bed early, but, again, probably prefers to do it earlier than the people she's sharing a bed with, unless they have something interesting going on.
Kitty Pryde-Barton
-She's a morning showerer and straightens her hair most days.
-Lexi's school age so far so part of the day is spent sending her off and getting her back.
-Goes into the office at Caritas basically every workday in the daytime for things like payroll and ordering and things like that.
-Tuesday's her late night.
-Makes sure everyone gets meals but also there's a lot of pizza involved.
-A little bit of cleaning happens every day. Will it have mattered tomorrow? Probably not.
-There's more TV involved in her day than there probably should be?
-Attempts to go to bed early. Fails often.

Marc Spector
- Is a morning person, to Steven's horror.
- It's flexible but generally speaking Marc gets the body more earlier in the week.
- Absolutely helps himself to Watts and Steven's food while claiming he'd never be caught dead eating their vegan stuff.
- When taking care of his own food he tends to go for uncomplicated - yes, sometimes a protein smoothie, shut up, Steven. He either orders in or makes things that are simple. Steven's much more of a cook these days.
- There's gym equipment in their basement which Marc uses fairly regularly to keep the body in shape.
- Marc still has an allergy to spending too much time in the boarding house office, but he does do a sweep of the building a couple of times a week to make sure everything's okay as far as supplies, cleanliness of the common areas, that kind of thing.
- He's waved his hands entirely of what Watts and Steven consider organization. He makes sure the kitchen is clean and any areas of the house that are entirely his own. Everything else he lets Watts and Steven worry about, provided it's clutter and not a health hazard.
- Everything he owns is organized with the precision he picked up from his time in the military. His mind has a hard enough time keeping track of things, he doesn't need to make it worse on himself by not being able to see what he owns.
- Has a pile of t-shirts in his closet with cat hair on them because Raphael claimed them as a bed and Marc
is a softiedidn't feel like bothering claiming it back.Steven Grant and Llewellyn Watts
- Are not morning people.
- Steven is far more concerned about anything resembling a schedule to share the body than Marc is. But tries to arrange it so that he has it from Wed night through the weekend and the rest of the week is available for Marc to do whatever he wants with it. Really. Anything at all. Spending time with people maybe? Just throwing that out there.
- Steven lets Marc worry about the working out and all that.
- When Steven and Watts wake up together and neither has to get to work, they have/make nice breakfasts together or for each other. French toast, breakfast scramble, that kind of thing.
- When Watts wakes up on his own he does something more simple, like hot cereal and toast with jam.
- Steven keeps cold cereal on hand for when he needs a quick breakfast or a snack.
- Wednesday night is date night. They trade off who makes lunch to deliver at work every other week.
- They have a synagogue they go to. They also spend some time there doing volunteer work, like putting food packages together for those who need them.
- Watts bakes and often shares the results by putting them in the boarding house kitchen for any residents who want them.
- Watts practices his piano. Steven and Marc tend to use the time on either things they need to get done individually or having private conversations amongst themselves.
- When possible, Steven likes to have some kind of dinner waiting for Watts when he gets home from work.
