MEME: What I Admire About You

I am living in a Meme State of Mind this month, so you get another one this week that we haven't done since last year. Woo!

Tag your character into a comment. Other characters will then ICly respond with things they admire about your character. Yes, even if the pair of characters are generally antagonistic towards each other, here is the chance to reveal whether there's something positive hidden in there somewhere! (For an example, Jackson might tell Jim he admires his tenacity.) So, character-to-character basis, and positive things. Kind of like an IC anon love meme, yes. Except without the anon part. Now get to it!

I really admire your willi--wait, no, scratch that, it's not willingness because I swear you always have to do it while digging in your heels and grumbling the whole time (not a complaint, btws), so let's just say your ability to change, without also changing who you fundamentally are. Does that make sense? Like, we haven't known each other for long, and I only know a fraction of everything you've been through (insert joke about being old here), but, even in that small amount of time, I've seen you grow and shape yourself in subtle but important ways. You always come off as so gruff and unmoveable and settled in your ways, but you're really not. You're actually fairly open to considering new possibilities and angles and trying new things, even if it takes you a while to get there and it's not in some big, bombastic, obvious way. And I really, really like that about you.

Even if I still haven't managed to sell you on TikTok yet.

Pam: You are both terrifying and intriguing. Not the most uncommon combo in my line of work, but still. You pull it off beautifully.

I love meeting someone who has at least as much appreciation for plants and the environment as I have.

I admire that you've been through hell in our galaxy, including both Sith and Jedi teaching, and you've managed to leave it behind. I'm a bit in awe of that, actually.

Look, I've only met you once, so I'm not sure how much this is worth, but you seem open-minded and clear-eyed about the task you've got ahead of you. Gives you a much better shot at it than most of the Jedi I've ever known.

And I admire you trying in the first place. Trust me, with the history the Order has and will have, I know it's easy to give up.

Kitty: You seem to have done a remarkable job of actually quitting being a superhero! I don't think I've actually seen that happen before.

Desperately clinging to tge fading vestiges of freedom before being subjected to an absolutely grueling gauntlet at work this week....

You're clever, you're quick, you're not afraid of anything and you don't let anyone else's bullshit bowl you over. I might sometimes struggle with the 'oh get back up and get in there' of you, but I appreciate that it's still there after all this time.

I'm really glad you're getting back out there, taking crazy risks and living free. Makes me sleep better at night.

You are very helpful! And quite poised. I admire how you manage to keep yourself standing 'round a strange place like this.

Don: You have an everyman quality that I don't see that often. At least, not in people who stick out in my head, anyway. . . .

Arden: You're very creative with how you use your powers.

Adrian: You were very easy to talk to. We should do that again sometime.

Honestly, considering how bad I am at keeping friends, I probably don't deserve one as kind, smart, and compassionate as you are. I admire your ability to be all those things while facing a world that's often so antagonistic, even violent, to what you love and what you value.

I'll never admit it, but I'm a little in awe of that. I am not nearly as gracious.

You're smart, beautiful, and confident in yourself and your power. Not that you need me to tell you that! But it's refreshing to see.

I probably shouldn't like you as much as I do. Or trust you. But I think you're better than you say you are.

I hope.

Liliana: You are a dear friend and I'd love to have 1/100th of your confidence.

Arden: You're one of the very few people outside the Gales that I consider a true friend. Let's go do more extreme adventuring!

I honestly wouldn't know how I'd make it through without you, darling. Your wit, your desire to improve the lives of those you care about, your openness to new experiences, even your fascinatingly terrible taste in art and design - I enjoy them all sincerely.

It's too hot.

It is, as you say, good and heartening to see people who actually care about the Green in this town. That's often rare, and I appreciate it. (And I should probably talk to you more, but my own drama keeps getting in the way.)

Lana: You are a true friend. Without you I would be so much less and I never would have met all my warrior woman friends.

You are a wonderful person, and I'm so glad to see you come into your own.

Those women adore you, too; just be careful or you could end up adopted into a clan. Not that that's a bad thing, but you should know what you're in for.

Can't say I see much of a downside in being adopted by one of the clans.

You know, you're one of my best friends now, but if I have to bring up something I admire about you - you always ask questions, and you're not afraid to hear the answers. That's rare. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to be like that - complaining is a part of my nature - but I like seeing it in the world.
