Demographics poll!

Because I'm just curious like that, I made up a simple poll to see what the average (as if any of us is average! ^_^) Fandom High player is like. Please, feel free to skip questions, ignore the poll, whatever, but give me some feedback too. If you hate it, let me know and I'll never do it again. It's the political science geek in me. ^_^

[Poll #577108]

And if you want to see results without taking the poll, click here.

You know, I'm really very curious about how many people are RPing characters opposite their gender. *is very random, and likes odd statistics*

I'm opposite gender. Which is kinda weird because all my older rp characters are girls and yet I ended up getting a guy for this rp. (Mainly because the character I would have otherwise picked was already taken.)

I can tell you that I do not share a gender with either of my characters. ;)

Well... my character lacks anatomy...

[identity profile] scissors--.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess a looooot of the male characters are played by female muns. Well, edward is, at least :)

[identity profile] bluemanoncampus.livejournal.com 2005-09-26 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
Very male here, baby!

::grunts, stratches self:: :-P

But my other char is female, yes.

This is coming from the person who was playing Tyrol, btw. OTP! ;)

Tabletop RPGers!

[identity profile] actingltcrumpet.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I notice there's a lot of people here with previous tabletop RPG experience, so now I'm curious as to which games you all have played.

For me, it's D&D second edition, a tiny bit of third edition, and a touch of Magic: The Gathering.

Oh, I also forgot to specify "other" for that last question . . . if RPG video games, of the non-MMORPG variety, count. Because my video-gaming reflexes suck, and those are the only kind I'm good at.

Re: Tabletop RPGers!

[identity profile] valentine-tart.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
My vg-reflexes suck too and I can only play stuff like Heroes of Might and Magic, Caesar, Alpha Centauri.

No table-top RPG experience, though. Unless you count the years in high school of being crushy on the D&Ders so much that I learned the manual. *g*

I'm playing Debbie Novotny as well as Han, so I have one character that shares my gender. And I'm one of the oldest in the game.

My background is D&D (before AD&D), AD&D, Car Wars, Runescape, GURPS, Shadowrun and Cyberpunk, Vampire the Masquerade, etc. Basically late 80s-early 90s vintage is my gaming era.

[identity profile] the4thsister.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I almost joined Masquerade a while ago at uni, but it sort of fizzled out. I have the PC game for it when is pretty cool. Think it's party of the reason I joined this actually I fancied some RPG action!

Clarification thingie

[personal profile] chasingangela 2005-09-25 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You know, I marked that I had never roleplayed, but that's not exactly true. In high school, I was briefly part of a roleplaying thing on the Prodigy message boards, and in college I played a tabletop game for about two hours because a guy I liked wanted to show me it. But for all intents and purposes, I'm a total newbie.

So if the only RP I've ever done is an LJ one that I signed up for like, a week before enrolling in FH, that still counts as "I have roleplayed before," right? *g*

And I play two characters over there, one of which is a guy, which is a lot easier than I would have thought. I have four characters here who are all female because I didn't think I would be able to get the male mystique down. Now I know for next time.

[identity profile] scissors--.livejournal.com 2005-09-25 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)

Primarily D&D V3.0 (with some background in 2), with VtM(Which graudated into LARP), and Sailor Moon (Shut up). I've always had an intrest but never enough money to get the books so what I've played always depended on what books were at the library.

Keep coming back to D&D though, it's the classic.

[personal profile] janet_fraiser 2005-09-26 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, God, V:tM. I have LARPed that so damn much. Playing in a LARP in the WoD set in 1216 right now.

D&D is beautiful. I'm not buying the 3.5 books, though. Too much money!

Not only do I play someone of the opposite gender, but also someone with the opposite number of heads!

I've rped before, but I hadn't in years before FH. It looked too fun to pass up. And as an unbelievable bonus, everyone here has a basic grasp of grammar and characterization.
