Invasion!
Hey everyone. Next weekend (December 1st-3rd) is going to bring our big invasion for this semester. This time, the island is going to be attacked by trolls. Because no troll from any one fandom fit our specific needs for this event, we've decided to go with trolls based on folklore (with a tiny bit of some fandom stuff to make it all work out smoothly).
We would like to keep most of the specifics under out hats for right now, but we will give you any information you may need to know depending on what role you end up playing this weekend.
In order to make things a little more scary and destructive, we're going to need volunteers for several different aspects of the invasion:
1. Anyone who wants to be taken hostage by the trolls (don't worry, you will be rescued...probably). There will be many chances to try and reason your way out of captivity (anyone can volunteer -- this is not restricted to students).
2. Fighty types. There will be troll battles at various places so we'll need plenty of these (again, anyone can volunteer, but unless you manage to talk your way out of captivity, you probably can't be in both groups one and two).
3. Researchers to find out about the trolls: what can kill them, how to make them leave, etc.
4. A small group of people to participate in the final event to banish the trolls. We can't tell you what types exactly we need right now because we'd like to keep the finale a secret, but think your standard D&D party type deal. Selecting who is in this final group really depends on who volunteers and how things play out over Friday and Saturday and we may not even decide who is in it until Saturday evening (anyone who is a kidnap victim at the time of the final battle cannot volunteer for this group, otherwise anyone is welcome to request participation). You MUST be around and able to play on Sunday though. PLEASE do not volunteer for this group unless you know you will be available.
5. Townies who are willing to have their businesses destroyed by the trolls (how long it takes to get the place up and running again will be up to you).
There are OCD threads below for volunteering. As always, you don't have to participate in the invasion. Your characters can spend the weekend in their rooms or off island and easily avoid all the mayhem. Any questions?
