The Flood! Maps, Events, and Information
Welcome to Poseidon's Fandom now with a slightly revised map. The slight revision? A lot more water.
Maps
On the maps conveniently linked below, the blue is for areas that are significantly flooded (First floor, basement, yards, streets, anything like that). PC homes and businesses are flooded to the degree that the players decide upon, NPC businesses can generally be assumed to be mostly submerged on the inside.
The red lots are places with rooms available for anyone displaced by the flood. The green lots are places that are flooded but have rooms for people above the flooded levels.
The edited maps use the current maps on the town map post for a base. If you follow that link, you can of course find the current residents, businesses, and addresses all in handy dandy list form.
Flood map with names!
Flood map with numbers!
Please note that I only marked the buildings that were specifically requested to be flooded in this week's
fhplotterywheel posts. If you'd like to change the status of your building on the map, please drop a comment to this post and it will be done.
The rest of the post is cut to spare your flists, but please still read it.
NPC Businesses
The NPC businesses listed as flooded on the map should be assumed to be flooded somewhere around waist high, give or take a bit. This way mer-people and sea creatures can be in there while allowing players to get in there and now drown.
We'll be using some special NPCs for some of the businesses because why not?
J,GOB: Flooded waist-high, service provided by a fully moddable octopus.
Fast Eddies: Flooded ankle-high (allowing for electronics to not electrocute everyone), service provided by crabs and lobsters.
The Perk: Flooded knee-high, service provided by seals and sea otters.
Satriale's Pork: Flooded waste-high, no service. There are piranhas here.
Other Areas of Note
The following areas have something special going on. You can start posts there and mod sealife as you will, but certain special events will take place in those areas throughout the weekend in clearly marked posts.
The Park: You'll need a boat, raft, or solid swimming skills to get around in the park. In the middle of the pond sits Poseidon's Castle. Don't expect him to come out too often. Also in the park are relatively peaceful mer-people (just don't make them mad), dolphins, starfish, and other assorted (and moddable) friendly sea creatures. Just don't get too wild. The park's not big enough for a blue whale.
Serenity Cove: There's a giant squid here. Poseidon left it here because the name was appropriate: the squid had some rage issues and used the mantra "SERENITY NOW" (only, you know, in Squid). Over time, this shattered its ability to function calmly. Expect a fight if you taunt the squid in any way. (Squid not moddable. There will be a squid fight post at some point this weekend.)
The Rocky Bits: Here's where your totally moddable cool mer-people are, sunbathing, relaxing, playing water polo, and taunting land people with their fishy tails.
The Preserve: Not all of the mer-people are calm, cool, or sane. This is where the bad mer-people are. They dislike Poseidon's rule, land people, fish, waves, sun, air, each other... You name it, they'll fight against it. There will be a Preserve fight post at some point this weekend, but aside from that, these mer-people are moddable within the Preserve itself. Also, sharks. Because we need sharks.
Selkie Cove: Thar be treasure here. It swept in with the flood. Yarr. Beware of other beings looking for the treasure, though.
That should hopefully be all the information you need right now. If not, ask any questions and I'll give any answers, hopefully good ones. :D
ETA: There are also some strong currents that people should be aware of:
There is an area with strong currents handwavily over in the Preserve, some currents over by Selkie Cove that will attempt to push you out to sea, and one strong current running from Galactica Point down to the docks. And when you arrive at the docks, there's a chocolate fountain.
Oh and if you'd like to mod a mer-person from your own journal,
strongestgirl made a bunch of mer-icons over in
fh_icons.

Also, I totally didn't reply to the last thing you said again no matter how tired I was at the time. It just didn't happen.

The Devil's Nest won't be flooded, but 25 Unicorn Street will be.
