Cabin Assignments and Info
Cabins
Hello!
These are the cabin assignments for Summer Semester (Term 1). We have kept together all of the pairs that signed up and the rest of you have been slotted into an open space. You may know some of your cabinmates, you may not. It's only for three weeks and cabins are a great opportunity to get to know characters that you might not necessarily interact with on a regular basis.
All of the listing behind the cut are in alphabetical order for each section (A or B) for each cabin. Sort out amongst yourselves which of the alcoves (1-4) you would like to take as your own.
Students will be moving to the cabins on Friday. New students will be able to store their stuff in their new rooms, then shuffle off to the cabins. Old students will mosey on over there during the day to set up.
Please note: the following cabin assignments are just that - cabin assignments. Room assignments for the dorms will be posted before Friday. Keep an eye out.
The cabins have been renamed this year. This year's theme: mythical creatures!
Cabin Assignment Listing
The Cabins: A Short Description
The cabins themselves contain 8 people (4 in each section). The cabins are fully air conditioned and have running electricity. Fandom's wireless internet network is also available from this area. Pets are certainly allowed provided the owner cares for them. Each cabin has a bathroom with running water, a sink, toilet and shower.
Alcoves do not have doors. They are sectioned off with curtains and the walls separating alcoves only go 3/4 of the way up.
Cabins have a small living room where students can bring their own electrical equipment (TV, video games, etc) to set up. People from other cabins should not walk into a cabin's living room uninvited. By all means, knock and ask if you can come in, but just walking in without an invitation is impolite.
Each cabin has a personal campfire outside the door from section A. Cabin campfires are like common rooms, but only people from that cabin should put the post up. Everyone is then welcome to come along and take a seat.
You can see a visual layout of each cabin here:

The Campground: What's All This Then?
The campground is located in the Preserve and has been renovated since last year. You can see a new picture of the layout here:

The main campfire is free for everyone to enjoy whenever you'd like. The school and town are a short hike away (the Preserve is bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside). There is an abandoned shack a short walk away that's great for sekrit meetings for couples and the shoreline of the island isn't too far away either. There are clearings in the Preserve as well that can be modded as needed.
The gym area is available on site and should be used like the school gym. The kitchen and dining hall are readily available for use as well (although ask
swedish_chef_ before swiping stuff from the kitchen). The storage locker is for all sporting/workshop/other equipment that you might need.
What about the dorms/school/town?
The dorms are still there, but please don't make a habit of going back to your room unless it's for an important reason (ie: a plot). The first floor is fine to use the facilities there. The IC administration will be unhappy to see students sneaking back to the dorms on a regular basis, especially while the school and surrounding areas are being rebuilt.
The Danger Shop is now in a secure part of the school ruins and will be accessible for workshops. The library, while in disarray, is also secure and will be open several times a week by library staff or the librarian. The rest of the school is off-limits to all students. Danger, Will Robinson, danger.
Town, of course, is business as usual.
What do I post where?
* Workshops, regardless the location, should still be posted in
fandomhigh.
* Campfire posts (like common room posts), any other use of the campground, Preserve or public areas on school grounds should go in
fandomhighdorms.
* Cabin posts and alcove posts (like room posts) should go in your own journal.
Comments, questions, cheesecake? You know where to find us. Or if you're new and you don't, comment here or shoot off an email to administration@fandomhigh.net
ETA: If there's anyone who will be away for the first term and hasn't informed anyone on the admin team of that, please do so immediately.
Son of ETA: There have been some slight changes. Make sure you check to see if you've been moved.

And with all the crazies. Excellent.

"Hey, we're Levines, things always go to hell when there is more than one of us in a small area."

And no burning down the cabin, girls. That's not allowed. (Because you just know the two of them would end up doing it otherwise.)

We need a place to sleep in case it rains... and besides... six guys and us... these odds are so not fair. I feel bad for them.

WOOT!
*wonders what wacky hijinks the graduates will get into*

Is it because Dick likes to sleep naked when it's hot?
Yeah, that's probably it.
