Powers and Skills and Abilities, Oh My!

For everybody's convenience in plotting, we try to keep a running list of the various abilities possessed by FH characters. If you ever find yourself saying, "Hey, I need a magic user/archer/person who can whistle Dixie while eating crackers and covering one eye," that list of powers is meant to be there for you to take a look at.

It's been a while since we did this so here we go:

• All of the previous posts have been compiled into a spreadsheet that you can always head over to check (and will be linked on the FH community info page)



• From now on, we only need people to fill this out for new characters, or if you have an update or correction for your older ones. If your stuff is listed over on the spreadsheet, don't worry about this!



• We've streamlined the categories a bit to focus on "what can you do" instead of worrying about whether that's a magic or mutant or inherent ability. So the wacky powers are now just broken into spellcasting, psionic powers, and superhuman physical attributes.

Anything that is a canon power or ability of your character (including those developed at FH) and could be used in a plot in some way, please list below in the correct thread. This is for all character types - students/alumni, teachers and townies - and covers everything, not just the wacky powers. We also appreciate yer fighting, research, weapons, support skills and whittlin', baby.

I wasn't sure if this would go in support or not, so it's going here. Summer is a skilled surfer and scuba diver, having grown up around the water. She also handles underwater & regular recording equipment with ease and knows her way around boats (it helps that her dad and uncle were Navy SEALs).

Emmett.... will someday in the future actually teach a (very small) class on the finer points of see icon. I'm not putting that skill on the spreadsheet.

(But I will give cookies shaped like penii to anyone who can actually come up with a workable plot in which it is useful.)

Jono is also a skilled guitarist, and he writes music as well. Shame about his inability to do his own vocals, though.

And he can ride a motorbike!

Dandelion knows the "Saddest Song In The World". Using the song she was able to stop the annexation of Earth from an invading force by playing the song and making everyone weep and introspective about their own sadness in life.

Except it has no effect on Squirrels. Because they have no souls.

Layla Miller "knows" stuff. In fact she has about 80 years worth of data crammed into her skull by a future version of herself.

Goose is a capable mechanic, being able to design a small space craft capable of flight together out of spare parts, and he can play the electric guitar.

Scully has a trio of on-call Plot Device Hackers who owe her big-time for signing her up for Sex-Ed. They're good for random hacking and false document generation. She also has an in with one world's FBI.

Jake's a licensed private detective, so he's got experience with surveillance, lockpicking... theoretically stuff like questioning/interrogation but tbh that is usually where he ends up getting punched in the face.

Kurt's watch is actually a very sophisticated hologram projector called an image inducer. He uses it to hide his blue, furry self and look like a normal person.

Although Kurt only uses the image inducer to look like a pink-skinned version of himself, it can, if need be, make him look like anybody he wants to. He's not entirely sure how to program it to do that, though.

Squall is really good at collectible card games. Especially the one from his world called Triple Triad. He's also able to turn monsters that he fights into cards that he can use in the game. Yes, really. No, it doesn't make sense.


He has the power of internal monologue, which enables him to think long rambly Randian thoughts that aren't as deep as he thinks they are. He also has the power to be an enormously hypocritical dick.

Hiccup is a good inventor/contructor of things, many of which have weapons-like qualities. Of course, his technology is steam-punk level, minus the steam, but he is really very good at it.

He also has this dragon: the dragon can fly super fast, take off straight up in the air and fly incredibly high, shoot super hot balls of flame, and has sharp teeth. The dragon may also be capable of cute-ing people to death, but that's yet to be tested.

According to her canon, while Savannah doesn't have any current demon powers from her mother's demon side, the fact that she is a quarter demon adds "oomph" and power to the spells she casts.

Bruce is a great singer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_Ynj4i0Gmw&feature=related), although he prefers if people don't know that.

I would also link to a couple Shortpacked! strips here but it seems the recent site redesign made my bookmarks invalid and I really can't bring myself to put in the effort to search on a Saturday morning.
