meme: reverse questions

Hi! Have a meme. We last did this in November and I posted that one too, la.

Tag in with your characters and then people will comment asking the MUNS anything about the GAME or THEIR CHARACTERS, because we all know the muns will answer when the characters won't. They can be specific questions ("How does he feel about her?") or general questions ("Why did you choose this character?", "How do you channel them?", etc).

Don't forget to check in through the day to find more people to ask questions of!

Astrid Magnussen

Oh, sure, I'll throw Astrid in, too, what the heck, even if she obviously hasn't gotten out yet. But since she's been clawing at my brain consistently for the past few months...why not?

White Oleander has been a book that's been on my periphery for a very long time; I remember really wanting to read it back when it came out in freaking 1999, but I've only just now scored a copy and I dove right in and it just sucked me up. Astrid as a character just grabbed me, especially at a specific point in time: here you have this quiet, artsty teenager (ding on the characters-I-like-to-play bell) with a very unconventional upbringing, thrown into this point in time where her world is completely changed. I was just so fascinated and drawn in to this idea of (to push the artist metaphor further) essentially a blank canvas. The book is entirely about how different experiences shape who Astrid becomes, and most of them are awful and terrible. But who does she become when tossed into something that might be awful and terrible, but also be inspiring and uplifting, and most assuredly strange and bizarre and even more unfamiliar to her than the territory she's already traipsing into?

She just fascinated me so damn much, and I'm so excited to see what she'll do.
