meme: more than meets the eye
Hola! We have new characters, and more importantly players who might need this, so let's update this from the last time we did it in March!
There are certain characteristics about the people we play that *we* know, but we get tired of repeating in every introductory ping. There's also stuff that players wouldn't really be able to figure out just looking at an icon--how tall someone is, if they have an accent, what kind of clothes they are wearing...and in some cases, if their eyes/hair/whatever are different than the PB we've picked.
So wax poetic about what your characters look/sound like, if they have tics or scars, if they have a distinct singing voice, etc!

Rey
-She's spent most of her life in the sun but with mostly appropriate protection, so she's tan with freckles over her face.
-5'7" and thin and wiry. She definitely didn't get to eat much for most of her life, but she's pretty strong, considering.
-She's also very active and moves easily, with a habit of literally popping back up if she gets knocked down. Will absolutely scale anything at a moment's notice.
-Has changed up her hair a little bit recently. She will still do her hair up in three buns at the back of her head sometimes, but right now she's just as likely to wear it half down.
-Is ambidextrous. She's left-handed but can fight and shoot with her right hand just as easily.
-Tends towards neutral colors and practical, comfortable clothing for the setting. If it's cooler you're seeing her in something more like her Ahch-To outfit, if it's warmer then it's more like the flowier outfit. Also tends to wear wrappings to cover her arms.
-Often carries a staff on her back if she thinks she'll need it. If there's a fight, she absolutely has it.
-Does have a lightsaber, which is currently split in two and she can't use it, so she's not wearing it in any way that is visible. If she needs it for something it's in a brown leather satchel she sometimes carries, and if she has the satchel with her, then she also has the lightsaber. (This will change the instant canon tells me what to do.)
-Sounds incredibly British. (Is, of course, not.)
Sabine Wren
-Very colorful and definitely stands out.
-Her hair is always short (easier with a helmet), and naturally dark brown but she dyes it pretty frequently. Currently it's a green at the top and fades to yellow at the tips, with her eyebrows a darker green. I try to put her current look in her profile, and if you need to now her hair color you can see the latest "hair stuff" tag in her journal.
-Would easily pass for an Asian-American girl from Earth.
-Wears a little bit of makeup, but keeps it pretty neutral.
-Is probably about average height for her age and will grow some. Also built like a stick figure. There's nothing to her.
-Unless otherwise stated, is always wearing her armor minus the helmet. I'll also say when she's carrying it around.
-Her armor is 500 years old and is heavily modified, so it's not this big clunky suit. She kept the collar armor, breastplate, ankle plates, and knee, elbow and shoulder pads. They attach to a black body glove that she wears with pants.
-Her armor also gets painted fairly often. Currently it's a mix of grays and purples and teal, and has a teal deer on her right pauldron. (There's always an animal there.) She's also got an orange starbird on the breastplate.
-Also wears black boots and gloves that are covered in paint splatter.
-Is wearing weapons anywhere she is allowed to wear weapons. She carries two blaster pistols in a holster and they are painted.
-Also probably has some kind of explosive on her, though at school be in the dorms it's something non-destructive, like paint or glitter.
-Also has something to paint with on her person at all times.
-Her body language is that of someone who's deliberately closing people off. She rarely shows her teeth when she smiles and she crosses her arms a lot.
-If she's on the mainland, she will leave her armor behind in favor of clothing that will blend in. Well, mostly- it's all still pretty colorful.
Kitty Pryde-Barton
-Brown hair, which is naturally pretty curly. She straightens it when she can because it's easier to manage all day that way, and usually wears it down or in a ponytail.
-Brown/hazel eyes. They're described in stuff as hazel but usually colored as brown and the PB has hazel eyes so it's one of the two.
-5'6", with a dancer's build and unlike a lot of comics characters from the 80's, actually has a normally-proportioned body. She's probably also that bitch who had a baby and lost most of the weight right away.
-Is nearsighted and wears glasses sometimes, for reading and detail work mostly.
-She's from Chicago but has lived in other places for years, so if she has an accent at all it probably shows up in flat vowels here and there.
-Her natural state is intangible, and she's solid basically through sheer force of will. My personal rule is, if you're trying to hurt her, she's probably not getting hit (tbh it's funnier), but if you're not, it's fine to touch her. She doesn't appear any different between the two states.
-Kitty's a pretty casual dresser, big on jeans and t-shirts. Xplain the X-Men said she seemed like that kid who was way into fashion and then grew up and just wore sweats all the time because she couldn't be bothered and that seems about right.
-When she really tries to put together an outfit it might be a bit of a disaster.
-Sometimes wears a Star of David necklace.
-Used to have both a navel ring and a few piercings in each ear, but those got healed up after dying and being made whole again. Now she's got two holes in each ear.
-Wears her wedding and engagement rings on her left hand.
Jack
- 27 years old.
- Pale, dark brown eyes usually ringed with dark khol, shaved head but occasional dark brown stubble.
- About 5'6", whipcord muscle over bone, scars covered by tattoos everywhere but her face. If your character would notice such things, there's evidence of childhood privation. The fat pads in her face never properly developed which lends to her sharply defined chin and cheekbones.
- Jack is a creature of instincts that were honed in a hostile environment. She reacts instantly and usually violently to being startled or to sudden movement.
- She is hypervigilant and has habits one would see in someone who's spent their life in combat - she doesn't sit with her back to a door, she doesn't go into a room with only one exit.
- The thing you can't see: Jack is borderline psychotic. She holds herself together for several reasons and all of those reasons have names. Her default is an emotionless, merciless murder machine. She's trying very hard to be something other than that but under stress or in combat, 'Jack' will disappear. Lately she's focusing really hard on being Jack. She's a little more zen at the moment. Little more of a person.
- JACK IS NOT NICE. She can be, but her default is 'I don't care about you, all you are is meat'. It rarely comes out because I, the player, generally try not to be an ass but if you throw me in antagonistic RP and she has no reason to care about your character's feelings, it ain't gonna be pretty.
- Speaks at least passably all of the languages from her home galaxy. Also has a universal translator chip in her head that will eventually pick up and translate foreign languages. She would understand, she wouldn't be able to speak them without actively learning.
- Usually dresses in combat boots, black cargo pants that hang low on her hips, a binder tank, a t-shirt over that. Sometimes the tank is replaced with her 'buckles in bad places' straps but there's usually a t-shirt over it unless I've described it otherwise.
- Weaponizes sexuality. On her own, Jack's fairly aspec and of the opinion that all anyone really wants is empty, casual sex. Her brain chemistry is backward so fighting/killing sets off the pleasure centers of her brain and that plus normal battle body high will make her disappear into the bushes with strangers to work it off. Always strangers, though. She hasn't had a reason to change her views and has commented that she doesn't sleep with people she cares about.
- Will describe herself as broken, damaged goods, etc. She knows she's a monster, she knows exactly what she's capable of doing and that but for the list of names, that she would do these things without a second thought.
- Always has weapons on her. Usually knives, lately a mine-shooting Scorpion gun docked on the back of her belt. Even without visible weapons, she's a Biotic Adept and can use her abilities to deadly effect.
- Drinks her coffee black, always.
All that being said, she's trying really hard to be a person. She's trying to fit in with other people, she's a teacher back on Grissom and here at FH, and when she cares, she cares with everything in her. Jack doesn't know what half-measures even are.
Duke Crocker
Delirium and Barnabas
- Is tiny. Think undernourished, delicate-featured 13 year old who hasn't developed secondary sexual characteristics yet.
- Is as old as the universe itself. Even though she's the youngest of the Endless.
- Has one green eye, one blue eye with silver specks that swim around like minnows. If there's ever a time that both her eyes are the same color, you might wanna pay attention. It's very rare that she holds herself together but when she does, she's sane - she's a sane entity that knows literally everything - past, present, future - and if she's chosen to speak, listening's probably a good idea.
- Appearance changes but for the most part right now, she's got an undercut with a rainbow mohawk down the center of her head that's never up in a 'hawk but flopped down in a tangle of curls around her face. Sometimes her hair is all red. Sometimes her head is shaved. For the most part, the rainbow flop is what she has on her head.
- Dresses like someone who picked random items out of the Goodwill free bin unless she's making an effort. Most often she's wearing tights, torn up pants or a skirt, a fishnet shirt under a torn-up and pinned-together t-shirt with a denim or leather jacket overtop. Any jacket she wears is at least three sizes too big for her.
- That being said, she doesn't do that without dire reason. She is mostly a shattered person, she is the personification of insanity and as such is the exact opposite of sane.
- Delirium is childlike and whimsical - right up until she isn't. She hates rudeness or meanness and will respond vengefully if it's performed near her. Usually by making people experience things like bugs crawling on their skin forever or making their butthole itch.
- She can see things most people can't. Whether those things are real to anyone but her is sometimes a mystery.
- Her siblings are Destiny, Dream, Death, Destruction, Despair, and Desire. So she has kind of a strange outlook about any of those things.
- If your character has ever been insane, even temporarily, Del would know them. She may not recognize them right away because she meets a lot of people, but if she has cause to remember them, she will do so. If she does, she'll pay particular attention to the person because they had been in her Realm and she considers them one of her people.
- Can't be physically hurt or killed.
- Quite often turns into a school of fish that swim through the air, a passel of brightly colored frogs, a flotilla of iridescent bubbles, etc. Being human-shaped is hard.
- Does not sleep, doesn't need to eat but does because food is yummy.
Barnabas:
- Looks like a German Shepard mutt mix.
- Can talk.
- Is older than he looks by a factor of centuries. Destruction made him and eventually gifted him to Delirium because she needs someone to take care of her.
- Isn't phased by much.
- Has no other special abilities than speech and reading.
- That being said, can't be hurt or killed and if you try, it's gonna go bad for you.
- Likes bacon.
- Tries very hard to keep Delirium focused and behaving in a manner suitable for a school.
- Doesn't always succeed.
Hernando Fuentes
- Is the only character I have with a last name.
- Is normal human average, no powers or abilities at all except an amount of sass that's off the charts.
- Dark brown curly hair and beard, lighter brown eyes.
- Primary language is Spanish, has an accent when speaking English.
- Dresses in slacks and fitted button-shirts and good quality dress shoes for the most part, in the summer he can occasionally be seen in linen shorts and short-sleeved button shirts. The only time he is in 'casual' clothing is when he's jogging in the morning or when he's lounging around at home. If he's in public, he's dressed well.
- That being said, his fashion sense ain't bland. In canon, he wears dark purple pants with a light blue plaid shirt under a navy cardigan and somehow it's not eye poison.
- Is pretty mild-mannered.
- Has a thousand-watt smile.
- Wanna see it? Mention Sparkle. Hernando's just lost over that man and I'm here for every second of it.
- Is an art professor, has full tenure in Mexico, currently a guest lecturer in Toronto.
- Owns/runs T42.
- Can drive.
- Can't fight well. He's learning self-defense but he doesn't like it and still closes his eyes when he tries to shoot a gun, even when the 'gun' is a blaster on stun.
- Gay through most of canon, FH Hernando is pansexual/poly. That last part is not openly public.
Tisarwat
Those four bits?
-17 years old
-Lilac eyes (which are, in fact, very artificially so)
-"not tall exactly, but rangy in the way some seventeen-year-olds are who haven't quite grown into themselves" (so I put her at maybe about 5'7", on the thin, long-limbed side of physicality; basically Willow Smith's stats)
-At one point, her hair is described as being styled to be "neat" in one instance
And that's pretty all I got. But there are some other details we can discern or that I'm straight up making up to fit with my chosen PB or to fill in whatever other gaps:
-Dark skin is not specifically stated, but it an expected trait among Radchaai and usually tied with class and heritage, so Tisarwat's is likely a lighter brown
-Will always be wearing gloves unless otherwise stated
-Will usually be wearing her brown lieutenant's uniform (which is also never really described, so one could assume it's pretty basic standard miliary-style, though this artist and this artist probably present my favorite designs for them), especially when in class or in town. When in the dorms, she's more likely to dress more casually, t-shirt and trousers sort of get-up...with gloves. obvs.
-Wears her hair in long, just-past-shoulder-length dreads, which she'll wear loose in casual settings, but will keep tied back and neat in more formal (she considers going to class and into town formal, as she's representing her ship) occassions
-in an attempt to emphasize the Radchaai perceptions (or lack thereof) of gender, my canonmate and I have discussed and decided that Tisarwat is bilogically male despite her feminine-leaning features, so, you know, if that ever comes up.
-Is from a house so unimportant that, even though a character specifically asks what it is, it's never actually given. Like, it's handwaved in canon. That's how insignificant it is. So her accent is probably nothing special or noteworthy, though maybe with a slight affectation that just goes along with always trying to be so damn polite and civilized all the time.
-Not necessarily a physical-that-you-can-see trait, but Tisarwat has possibly the worst possible space-travel constitution in the entire Radch, and gets motion sickness pretty easily, especially in anti-grav. She also gets frequent headaches thanks to all that fun stuff with the Lord of the Radch taking over her brain for a little while there. Also, there's all the hangovers. And frequently needing meds to combat nausea. Her body is resilient and has been through a lot, but it is not a fun time and she suffers through a lot of it with determination. We don't know if she was like this before she was hijacked by Anaander, but it's pretty clear that the forceful implant from Anaander fucked her up pretty bad, mentally and physically, as did the forceful removal of it not long after
Janet Kim
-Korean-Canadian.
-Mostly doesn't have an accent but eeeevery once in a while you'll hear it on certain words, like "sorry."
-A super tiny person.
-Dark hair, just below shoulder-length, and you'll see her wear it down just as much as up.
-Has a sort of casual trendy style, with a lot of cute dresses and jackets, but she doesn't look like she tried too hard.
Keyleth
Jaina Solo
-Dark brown hair, about halfway down her back, and usually left down.
-Looks presentable but doesn't place much value on her appearance unless she has to.
-In scary good shape. She's mostly muscle. Girl trains like it's her job, which it sort of is.
-Her preferred clothes are simple, just a shirt and pants or flightsuits. She does dress up a little more when she needs to be official, though, and has decent fashion sense.
-However in Fandom, she learned as a teenager that every time something invades she gets guts all over her clothes and she's tired of ruining the stuff from back home. So it's totally common to see her in jeans and a tank top, usually black.
-No accent. Despite growing up on the same planet as Ben.
-Always has her lightsaber (purple!) clipped to her belt, unless otherwise stated. If she can't wear it, she brings a purse that she can hide it in.
-Basically just has a collection of faded scars. Most notably, there's a lightsaber scar on her stomach and some old burn scars on her back that have mostly healed up and faded.
-Doesn't actually have the dimples Sophia (and Brooke) does.
-Brown eyes. One might call them brandy brown. Ad nauseum.
-Is 39, but I actually tried doing the math and figured out that she's physically about two years younger than her numerical age. (My old job was boring.)
-Wears a wedding ring, but otherwise typically stays away from jewelry.
Wayne
-Jared Keeso's exact height seems a topic of debate, but most sources put him at 5'10", which is admittedly shorter than I'd have expected; Wayne easily carries himself like he's taller
-broad shoulders, narrow-waisted, muscular in that stout farmer-stock way
-Has arguably the most insane neck-to-jawline ratio
-is almost always wearing a flannel/plaid shirt tucked into perfectly fitted jeans (no belt)
-has shortly shorn blondish-red hair and a five-o'clock shadow by 10 am
-heavy brow and eyes that seemed to be in a perminant squint
-probably looks perpectually angry. or at least disconsolate
-when idle, either has his arms crossed over his chest or his thumbs laced into his beltloops
-is Canadian, with an incredibly distinct rural accent with a lot of elongated vowels and lazy endings, mixed in with some uniquely Wayne-esque pronoun,ciations here and there. He speaks in a sort of gruff monotone more often than not, with odd pauses and emphases. His manner of speaking is truly one-of-a-kind (link NSFW due to language, shirtless hawkey players, and alleged ostrich-fucking...which is a felony), and I try to convey it as best I can using dialect
-smokes a lot. drinks a lot. is probably having a dart or a beer right now
-usually stiff in posture as well as demeanor and moves more often than not in sharp, jerking sort of movements
-like, it is seriously so hard to describe Wayne. He's just so...Wayne.
Eleanor Shellstrop
- Carries herself like she's six feet tall. Probably due to all her insecurities
- Blonde hair.
- Blue eyes
- Considers herself to be a straight up hottie.
- In reality she's a hot mess
- She knows she's a hot mess though and is down with it.
- Sounds like a certain disney princess but with more rudeness and profanity filtered swearing.
- Dresses in whatever is clean. Or mostly clean. Or passes for clean.
- ... Yeah. That's all I got.
Marasiah Fel
-5'6" and in good shape, with great abs.
-Has long brown hair that's about midway down her back with a white streak right up at the front of her hairline, despite the icons. She usually either leaves her hair down or pulls it half back unless she's officially being empressy. Then it usually goes up. She also might have a simple headpiece on.
-Brown eyes, also despite the icons.
-Has the symbol of the Fel Empire tattooed on her lower back. The "yolt" is long removed.
-Her clothes are amazing, even her flightsuits are structured. There's a decent amount of white and off-the-shoulder stuff in her wardrobe.
-When she’s out on the mainland she tends to dress to blend in, so she might wear jeans or a dress she got in town. It's never really dressing down, though.
-Her Imperial Knight armor is red, and deflects lightsaber hits. Underneath are black pants and a shirt that’s basically a turtleneck, with black gloves, so all that’s exposed is her head.
-Has a lightsaber (silver!) on her whenever she's able to carry it, but she tends to keep it concealed.
-It's probably impossible to shake the poise off of her.
-No discernible accent. Even though she's Imperial and I feel she should be British, apparently it doesn't work that way.
-Isn't a big smiler. She's not adverse to smiling, but it's not an automatic reaction to most things.
-She has a great glare, though.

-Is really tall. And is only getting taller. But, for the time being, he's hit a bit of a (convenient) plataeu on his growth, and he'll probably be sitting at 7'5" (about 2.26 meters) for a while now.
-Is much older than he seems. Zora live for a very long time, but Sidon, at 77, is still quite young by Zora standards (about a human 17 year old).
-Is red. Like, very red, with a white underbelly. The Zora come in a variety of colors, but red is unusual for a male Zora. He has gills along the side of his (spectacularly ripped) torso, and colorful fins of yellow and turquoise sprouting from his shoulders, his forearms and falling from his hips and around his backside like a skirt. He has a big, broad chest, a very long torso (most of his height is torso), and rather short legs for his height. His hands are slightly webbed, with long yellow claws, and his feet are sort of...forked? Two main toes, mostly, with really sharp yellow nail on his big toe. He has bright yellow eyes with long, vertical pupils (like a cat, almost), no nose to really speak of, and very sharp teeth (only one row, though, SORRY).
-Also, there's a shark on his head. At least, it looks like there's a shark on his head, but it's not a shark on his head, that's just the shape of his head. The front end falls forward dramatically, nearly covering his eyes, with the fins framing his face, covering his ears, and then the tail falling back behind his head and about mid-way down his back.
-Does not wear clothes, but, hey, thanks to the clever design in the species, his gills and fins just happen to make it look like he's wearing actual clothes, spruced up with pretty pointless accessories. He is almost always wearing his necklace, his cravat, his royal sash, golden cords, his shoulder pads, belt, anklets, wristlets, and headpiece, intricately wrought pieces of jewelry studded with turquoise gems.
-Speaks with a slightly affected British-like accent. Perhaps a bit higher than one might expect for his size, but very bright and sing-song and so, so posh.
-His movements tend to be quite grand and expressive, from his gestures to his over-enthusiastic greetings to making grand leaps and flips whenever he gets the chance (which he hasn't gotten to do much around here, the cliffs here are depressingly small). He is, naturally, a fantastic swimmer and an excellent diver, but also quite good with poled weapons and a bow and arrow. I don't always write out when Sidon is gesturing (though I try to), but it's always a safe assumption that he's talking just as much with his hands as he is with his voice.
-Has two distinct scars: one cross-shaped one on his left headfin that he got fighting a giant octorok a while ago, and one large circular one about halfway down his headtail from a vampire literally BITING OFF A CHUNK OF IT more recently that would be a lot worse if it wasn't healed by Nina

Voice of a Grizzled 40 Year Old
Yes, those lines on his face are actually on his face.
He actually has brown eyes, he doesn't just completely lack irises despite how he's drawn.
He really does tend to wear that dumb school uniform even on days he's not at school. Or indeed, at a school that doesn't have a uniform.

- A lot more androgynous than the icons show. That's how Radchaai are perceived by non-Radchaai in canon, to the point where it's sometimes hard for them to figure out the biological sex. It's been an issue for me. When apping her I actually considered drawing all the icons, but considering how slow I draw that wasn't really an option. Finding a really androgynous black actor/model/etc around 40 was really really difficult.
- I haven't been thinking about it a lot, but in my head she's about 6'.
- Is in better shape than she was when she arrived in Fandom, due to less drugs, eating better and getting some exercise.
- Speaks with a really posh accent in Radchaai, so I'm assuming that translates into something similar in English. In my head she speaks like in the audio book read by Adjoa Andoh.
- Very dark skin, which comes with being from a very prestigious Radchaai family.
- Dresses in normal Earth shirts and pants these days, wearing traditional Radchaai memorial pins on her shirt. I'm not sure where she gets her clothes from these days.

- Her body is one of the thousands that was in storage on Justice of Toren, the ship Breq used to be. The person it used to belong to was taken prisoner during the Radchaai annexation of her home world. The mind of that person is gone since the body was connected to the ship AI.
- Lighter skin than Seivarden, but the Radchaai is diverse enough so that she passes for Radchaai.
- About 5'10".
- Speaks with a rather flat voice and with no facial expressions unless stated.
- Has a bad singing voice. Loves singing. In canon it's commented on how the medic chose to connect a body with a bad voice to a ship who loves songs. She also regrets no longer being able to sing choral music on her own.
Illyana Rasputin
* Long blonde hair down to her waist, with blunt-cut bangs and bright blue eyes. Looks utterly angelic, when she's not being a feral trash child.
* Generally dresses in Grunge-style: Ripped baggy jeans, hoodies, flannel, baggy t-shirts.
* Her English was implanted telepathically, so has a slightly posh Upstate NY accent with faint British overtones. Thanks, Professor X. Though she's been living Greenwich Village for the last year and a half, and has started picking up that accent, which gets more prominent as she feels more comfortable around people. Will revert to Russian if seriously distressed.
* Has callouses on her hands consistent with someone who trains with weapons a lot, particularly staff and sword. Which is one reason she likes baggy hoodies she can pull down over her hands.
* Her 'Stepping Discs" are flat circles of gold light, which she can move in any direction she likes. The easiest method for her to use them are like the portals from Portal, or for someone to step on one, and then appear somewhere else.
* When serious magic's about to go down, will summon her Soul Staff, which has some similarities to a glaive or scythe. (Sailor Venus would hyperventilate a lot, because it's very similar to the Silence Glaive used by Sailor Saturn. Knowing the comic author's love of Sailor Moon, this is probably deliberate.) Also may break out a particular enchanted red cape.
When in Darkchilde-mode:
* Eyes will tend to be solid gold or white or red, depending on how she feels.
* Red horns grow from her head. Again, depending on how much she's lost control, they could just be tiny nubs, or full-on ram horns.
* Fangs
* If she's totally lost it, her legs become goat-like and she gets a tail. If she's at that stage, narrative will say so.
Liam Kincaid
- Chronologically seven, but looks/acts like someone in their mid to late 20s.
- Dark blond hair that naturally has a bit of a curl, but he usually styles it to be sticking up.
- Grey eyes.
- At 6’2”, is pretty tall. Especially compared to his tiny, tiny
girlfriendfiancée.- Has a fairly deep voice with an eastern US accent. Does tend to pronounce those initial h’s as y’s.
- Has a fashion sense that is described in canon as “casual yet expensively formal” whatever the hell that means. So... jeans and long-sleeve button-ups but like... designer ones.
- Also generally wears black 90% of the time. Has a smattering of shirts in other colours, most of which are still dark.
- Has triangular marks on his palms that look like burn scars. They aren’t. Typically a light red, but can be darker, which I try to mention whenthags the case. Also emit pinkish-purple swirls of energy... which would definitely be mentioned.
- Wears an engagement ring on his left hand because fuck traditional gender roles that’s why.
- Sometimes wears a pair of black fingerless gloves. Usually paired with a black turtleneck, it’s very much his “everyday armour”, when he’s feeling particularly don’t-touch-me.
- His phone is actually a device called a Global Global which is very distinctive-looking, the screen is made of a flexible material that collapses inwards when it’s closed.
- Has a number of scars, the most notable one is a circular dime-sized scar on his abdomen.
- Carries a number of weapons on his person, mostly concealed, but always has his beam pistol (looks more or less an ordinary handgun, but shoots energy blasts) on him unless otherwise noted.
- Was born with the genetic memories of all three (yes three) of his biological parents. Occasionally when recalling one of these memories (either on purpose or triggered in some way), his face will go blank and his eyes vague and distant.

- Always wears The Jacket unless otherwise indicated. These days he tends to wear Jedi tunics underneath, preferably black ones. A little like Anakin Skywalker's old ones but less evil-y. And more leather pants.
- likes wearing long leather fingerless gloves that reach up to his elbow, because why not.
- Brown hair, hazel eyes that can gain a gleam of gold every now and again. He's basically Tall, Dark and Handsome, if it was average height and kinda grumpy.
- Still occasionally works to come across as a lecherous creep if he wants to distract people, but he's generally happy these days to let the grumpy guy routine set the expectations. Sometimes still stares at cleavage reflexively.
- 100% telepathy proof. Actually, at this point, 200%, since developing his Force abilities means that his telepathy proofing has also gotten an enormous boost. Telepaths won't pick up on more than him thinking about inane stuff, counting cards in his head, or staring at your/someone else's boobs, unless they're trying really hard. And then he'll know.
- Generally moves with a bit of a sloppy Han Solo swagger and gives off the air of a brawler, but that falls away to deadly grace if he's in a fight He was trained in the Echani martial arts, originally, and according to canon that becomes obvious when he fights hand-to-hand.
- He's a Jedi Sentinel, an ancient school of Jedi-ism that seeks a balance between the use of Force powers, practical skills like hacking and brute force. (Quoth Wookieepedia: "while a Guardian might bash down a locked door and a Consular might simply knock, a Sentinel would instead use equipment available or ingenuity to pick the lock.") Atton's not his Jedi Order's best fighter - that honor goes to Brianna - but Brianna's retired from fighting and he's a solid second.
- Yeah, he can use Force lightning without penalty. Welcome to the Old Republic, y'all.
- Carries two yellow lightsabers at most times. He prefers the 'acrobatics and whirling blades' school of Jedi fighting, and uses a style called Juyo, which channels negative emotions into Light Side fighting. It's a dangerous path.
- Tends to slouch and generally give off Manly Scoundrel vibes. Some portion of it's an act. Much of it is internalized by now.
- Has an old Sith symbol on his hip. He left it there to teach himself a lesson. He doesn't want more.
- Has accumulated a lot of scars below the neck over the years, most prominently a large diagonal one across his shoulder, where Sion nearly cut off his arm. He tends to cover them.
Nina
* talks like a very stereotypical Valley Girl. Literally the only person in her canon to do so.
* big blue/green eyes (her art is pretty inconsistent on this point so I'm all 'why not both?')
* long blonde, blonde hair that's curled to the point where it brushes just past her shoulders. Only Vette has seen it loose and uncurled and knows that it's straight as a pin and brushing her butt. If her hair is anything other than curled, it will be noted in thread. (While swimming she braids her hair back.)
* is usually pale as porcelain. Nina spends a lot of time on the whole 'looking like a doll' thing, while being active outside too, so in the summer she picks up some colour (despite her best efforts) but she's still very pale.
* dresses very modestly most of the time. She's made a few forays into vaguely modern fashion but her usual style is very much hanging out in some mash-up between the 50's and the late 19th century (a la Little Princess school girl style). Which also just furthers the 'doll-like appearance' thing.
* has absolutely perfect posture unless she's deliberately slouching/sprawling/going out of her way to not. Yes, Nina definitely can balance a stack of books on her head and walk around a room without them shifting one whit.
* is hitting about 5'3" at this point, with a few more inches to go before she tops out (she'll likely top out around 5'6"/5'7") with a build that looks a lot more waifish than it really is. (Mostly by design. Nina's really, really invested in looking adorably harmless. Really invested.)
* Nina hits like a goddamn truck. There's a good bit of muscle and defined abs under all that modest clothing and she works at it. She will flat out deny working at it, but she does. Even so, she's still stronger than she looks, even taking into account her muscles, and can carry a couple hundred pounds without issues. How? She just does. She can also tank a hit like a truck too.
* always has her diary on her. Used to writing with quills and calligraphy pens but doesn't mind using the modern pens while writing (she loves gel and glitter pens SO MUCH).
* the books in her bookbelt do change! They're always terrible, terrible trashy romances but they're different trashy romances.
* genuinely believes that love is the most powerful force. S'why she's going to beat you to death with her books about it.
* body language… this girl is always in motion, always open, and approachable when she's in a place where she's around people. Left to her own devices, when alone, Nina tends to be more closed off... right up until she notices someone being around.
* has runes embedded in both of the palms of her hands. Right now she's got fire (all enemy attacks) and water (primarily healing magic), but can change it up with a visit home. Will be opening her 'third slot' this year, which means soon she'll have one on her forehead too.
* has started carrying around a blank notebook with her, as her magical interests have been trending towards summoning magic, and she's very good at it.
* loves languages and absorbs them like a sponge. Taught herself to speak Ryl behind Vette's back in a matter of weeks.
* is a fledgling hacker, god help you all.
* is also a spy (quite literally the best spy in her world; Nina isn't aware of that) so if there's ever something you want Nina to know just out of the blue? Nina would totally know it.
Prompto Argentum

-Prompto is a young man of average height and a slender build, whose visage gives off the impression of a youthful punk. He has blue eyes, light freckles and short, unruly blond hair, which he at a point insists "does not look like a chocobo butt." (this is lifted straight from the wiki, y'all)
-17 years old
-Average height being 5'8" (173 cm) and that slender build is jam-packed tight with a whole mess of body issues. Prompto used to be a fat lonely kid who mostly just ate his feelings, but after an incident when Noctis grunted and commented on how heavy Prompto was when helping him up (LOL WHUT), he hit the gym hard and became obsessed with his weight and build ever since.
-So he's got a wiry sort of frame that's very well-muscled, espcially his arms, which he takes particular pride in (which really means something, since, you know, body dysmorphia can be a real bitch)
-"Light" freckles refers to tone, as they're very faint, but GOOD GOD, there are loads of them, and not just on his face, either, as many devoted high-def fan screen shots in awkward spots have proven
-He's almost always wearing dark clothes, usually a get-up that involves a pair of dark leopard-print skinny jeans, a tank top, a sleeveless leather vest studded with rivets and patches and a completely random red flannel accent at the bottom, and black shit-kicker boots with red soles and white accents. Black is an important royal color for theh Crownsguard, so it's a pretty big deal for him to mostly wear it, even though he likes to add flashes of color and detail here and there. (He's also partial to blue, ever since a gremlin-bit Sidon suggested it would really bring out his eyes, and has been working a lot more yellow into his wardrobe since the formation of the Drama Diamonds).
-You can safely assume he's either got a camera or his phone or possibly both very close at hand at all times
-Prompto is almost always always always wearing fingerless leather gloves that cover his wrists. This is important because they cover up his tattoos: one on his left wrist is a star with a stylized barbed wire that he got himself, so that one's not a big deal, but the other one on his right wrist is a barcode that he's had since he was a baby. He now knows that this marks him as a Niflheim clone made to be experiement on with daemon DNA, something he is definitely still not over yet.
-I may have thought once or twice about Prompto scanning his barcode at Turtle & Canary and having it come up as a UPC for cinnamon rolls.
-I assume he wears contacts because he had glasses when he was a kid that mysterious disappear when he's older, and since he's a range fighter relying entirely on guns, I doubt he'd just stop wearing his glasses for cosmetic reasons. I mean, he totally would just stop wearing his glasses for cosmetic reasons, but contacts make way more sense if he's going to be not wearing glasses for cosmetic reasons and then going to go try and shoot things. Also, I am probably thinking too much about this and why do I have two characters (*cough*Amaya*cough*) with mysteriously disappearing glasses?
-Prompto is always fidgeting and he's incredibly bouncy and cannot stand still to save his life half the time. I try to work this into the narrative, but it can get a little annoying, so it's safe to assume that he's figeting in some capacity when you're talking to him. If it's mentioned that he's actually standing still, that's when you know something's up. It's like he's got too much energy in him and doesn't know what to do with it, like, ever.
-Prompto's voice (provided in English by Robbie Daymond) is usually light and playful and higher pitched, varying in tones as exciteable as the boy himself, with a little bit of that edge-of-puberty crackle. It's a very typical over-excited nerdy boy voice. I mean, Daymond's Prompto-voice and Spider-Man voice are practically the same voice. Like. I cannot watch this Spider-Man without thinking it's Prompto in there. Which would be an awesome AU.
-....I'm now realizing he might need to get some new ink, in the form of a DIAMOND PERHAPS????
Ghanima Atreides
* Is in her early/mid thirties, but looks barely twenty.
* Tall, red-gold hair, very striking.
* Is Pre-Born, which means she has the full genetic memories of all her ancestors in her head, as distinct people. Will register strangely to telepaths. Anyone who tries to evesdrop probably gets a nasty migraine.
* Twin sister of Leto Ateides. Their mannerisms are eerily similar and they have a habit of finishing each other's thoughts.
* When teaching, typically wears fancy formal wear of the Imperium, including hat and fancy hair-style. On her down time, tends to dress more Fremen, in tunics and loose pants with her hair down.
* Is always armed. She always has her crysknife on her, but you can usually count on at least a dozen other knives somewhere on her body, a garrote, and a variety of poisons.

He also almost always has his wide-brimmed straw sugegasa hat, as well. It's a whole style thing, okay?

-Will almost always have a jug of sake tied to his obi and usually also his two swords--one katana, one wakizashi--tucked into it, too, on his left side. Shunsui is ambidextrous, though he tends to be stronger with his left hand than his right, just as he prefers his katana to his wakizashi, though, when all is said and done, he prefers not to fight at all if it can be avoided
-His expressions are usually soft and lazy smiles and general amusement, which is generally the aura he tends to project if you're not inclined to pick up on actual auras, in which case, if you are, he projects a crazy amount of spiritual energy and power that probably contrasts sharply with the laid-back attitude he otherwise exudes
-Has a deep drawl of a voice that also is remniscent of his whole general ~disposition~ of being dismissive and laid back and gets a little sing-songy and full of ♥ hearts ♥ when he's talking to a lovely lady ♥ ♥ ♥
Lucifer
- Pretty much always wearing a fancy suit, unless otherwise noted in the narrative. No ties. Never ties. Almost always a pocket square.
- Used to have scars on his back where he had his wings cut off. They came back. He doesn't know if he still has them, and doesn't care (reads: is scared) to look.
- Speaks in a posh English accent. It's not the first accent he's ever had, but it's the one he likes the most!
- A proud owner of perma-stubble(tm).
- Kind of... moves around like he doesn't expect anyone to hurt him, but in an elegant, effortless way.
- Has the world's most infuriating smug grin.
Lana Beniko
- She has a
BritishDromund Kaas accent.- She does tend to wear local clothing (if she's not, I'll note it), but will still carry her lightsaber everywhere she can.
