meme: reverse questions with a twist

A meme was requested, and I am coming through with one we haven't done since November.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will Wall-of-Text if they want to, look, I know how some of you are answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.

Questions might include "Which of your characters are you the most like?", "Which BDE was your favorite?", "What music do you RP to?", etc.

Always gotta: who's your easiest to play these days, and why?

Diego by faaaaaaaaar. I love him, I love his various relationships and he's got a lot of screwed up canon to work with.

And who's your hardest to play and why?

Lydia, absolutely. It's partly that I apped her on a whim, partly that the students just aren't very active, and partly the nature of playing a quiet, antisocial character.

Given the choice between the two, would you rather play drama or fluff?

Honestly they feed into each other for me, but gun to my head, drama. When I write fluff without any drama, it always winds up feeling so inconsequential. ... which is why so many of my more normal ships tend to peter out.

Do you like RPing fights between characters? Why or why not?

I do, if there's a good reason for it. Drama for the sake of making things ~interesting is not for me. I also like things to be resolved OOCly beforehand so I know how to play things.

What's the hardest part of an app to write?

Writing samples, mostly because I hate talking to myself.

Do you have any plans to 'fix' anything about your canon?

spin_kick_snap makes fun of me for saying 'this character isn't going to have a ship, I'm sticking to canon!!' because every time I do, they're dating two other people AT THE SAME TIME like six months later.

Which is to say: I was never the biggest fan of Lucifer's canon 'ship for various reasons, including lack of chemistry and what felt like pushing the odd couple dynamic into 'these two just plain aren't compatible' territory, but I was planning to stick with it.

So now I'm desperately waiting for the back half of S5 to come out to see if I have to, um, 'fix' my character's canon relationship out of the FH!version of his story entirely or I can work around it. Oops. At least I had the foresight of apping him from right before doing so became entirely emotionally impossible?

Tell me something you love about your canon.

1. I love the relationship between the siblings as someone who also has several siblings and know it's not all fluff.

2. Fucking great soundtrack, man.

The first season of Black Sails was very much trying to be a Game of Thrones rip off with the nudity and graphic sex scenes with women. It gets better but I always have to tell people to push through it.

Favorite character relationships in the game? Both your own and other characters you follow/ship.

My own ships aside, I love Diego and Five bickering together.

Outside of that I like Annie, Summer and Rey's friendship a whole lot.

Do you get anxiety sending emails to people? How do you get around it?

Yes and no, in that if something gets planned I'm usually the one to send the email, plus I've had a history of things going badly because the other person didn't want to say no until it exploded. So I'm convinced everyone hates me and doesn't want to play something, but this thing I want to play won't ever happen if I don't ask, so *hits send*

Of all the characters you've ever played in game, who's been the easiest?

Stiles. I could play Stiles in my sleep.

Are there any characters you consider bringing back?

Biff still lives rent-free in my head, and I've toyed with bringing Claudia Kishi back as a forever sophomore who just...keeps on going despite having been here before.

What are some canons you've gotten into mostly because of this game?

The Boys, True Blood...idk when Erin apps something I guess I watch it.

How do you get the ideas for plots? Do you just use canon, or do you like coming up with brand new things?

If it's not canon, it's me in an email to someone going, "Lol, we should do this."

And then we do it.

When apping students, do you tend to go older or younger?

Older, especially these days. I'm actually unsure if I'll ever app a student again, considering my tastes in storytelling and ~getting old~ I just keep feeling weirder about playing students, especially young ones.

Have you ever had a "eureka!" moment where something unexpected/frustrating thing about a character finally made sense to you while playing? What was it?

There was a random thread where Kanan asked Sabine about what her symbol means, and I basically worked out her reasoning and how it played into her art in general out in that thread and suddenly so much about her made sense.

Have you ever almost dropped a character and then managed to pull them together?

Rey came very close to getting dropped. I decided to keep her till I saw The Last Jedi in case that gave me inspiration, and WELP.

What's your favorite recurring event? (Weetiny, 20-year reunion, sex pollen, AU kids, etc.)

It depends on the character! Also the relationships I have in game.

Do you give your characters gremlin bites? How do you come up with them?

So, so many bites. Sorry, Anakin. And Luke. And Steve.

It's generally based on what is amusing me at that moment and I find that the more seriously the character takes themselves, the funnier the bite becomes.

Is there anything in particular that you'd like to see more of in the game as a whole?

Randomness. Like one day events, and I kind of miss the old school days where like, it made sense to have only Jaye be a random stick figure for a few days, stuff where it only affected a character or two instead of being a widespread thing all the time.

Dads. Apparently it's all dads right now.

lol apparently having a bad year because that's what got me into reading old threads and returning to the game last spring.

What's your favorite thing about this game these days, aside from being able to RP human touch? (I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed RPing handshakes when I first came back, omg.)

A magical mainland where the characters can do things like go to a restaurant or bar without mentioning masks or social distancing.

How'd you choose your characters' usernames?

I'm so bad with usernames. I try to use character quotes (like Silver's) and if I can't think of anything you end up with the mess that is Diego's.
