So we haven't done this meme in ten years...

And man. We felt old back then.

So on this auspicious day back in 2005 this game came into existence and generated so many fun times and memories. So a FH Memories meme seems appropriate.

If FH were a person they could be starting their sophomore year in college.

I attribute my daughter as one of the reasons I started playing in the game as I had a lot of energy and needed something to fill my free time while preparing to head overseas and adopt this child.

And while I have drifted away from the game several times, I always seem to return and there are still people here who welcome me back.

And for that and all the amusement this place gives me, I thank you all.

I'm gonna need you take back this reminder of Squee's age, thank you.

Nope. Can't. Also my youngest is learning to drive. If I have to accept this so does everyone else.

I was just talking the other week about how in 2006 we were told our students needed to be in actual grades (what? Sounds fake) and I made my characters juniors because there was no way I was still going to be doing this in two years.

And now I've devoted a scary amount of time to this game, have an entirely different life than I did when it started, had a ton of fun, and met a few besties.

Oh god, *I was here for that meme ten years ago*. I'd been here for a year already.

How can I have been here eleven years already??

Aw man. My memory is shit these days so don't know how well I could answer any of those prompts. But yay for FH! Thanks to here I've made some great, life-changing (for the better) friends and I can't imagine what things would be like without it. Cheers!

More Drama Than The Lifetime Channel everything nadiathesaint ever did. I was in a DARK place when I started this game and I worked so many things out through poor Nadia.
I Just Have Something in My Eye! Speaking of Nadia, when she left the island for a bit and Marty Blank made sure she didn't forget to bring her cat. . . . I bawled. AT WORK. And I hadn't even been working there for six months yet! (I have now been working there for almost 18 years, wtaf.)
360 Nothing specific right now, but Duke and Octavia have had a few scenes that turned on a dime!
I Gotta Just Pick Five? Why did I have to start this thing by finding links? I set a bad precedence for myself. DON'T EXPECT THAT SORT OF FOCUS TO CONTINUE.
- Eliot finally letting Parker and Hardison know he wants in on their relationship
- Eliot telling Kathy that he thinks of her as a daughter
- Raven walking across a zombified US to get from Kathy's LA back to Fandom
- Tip beating up her horrifying giant statue self with an improvised bowling ball sling shot
- Duke being very, very bad at getting Lucifer and Octavia in on his OT3 plans

WTF Where Did That Come From? So uhhhhhhh there was this one time early on where I was just fully committed to doing whatever sprang to mind with my character (Nadia) and I just went "oh, she's going to walk into the ocean now." WHAT THE FUCK, BELLS, WHY WERE YOU LIKE THAT?
I Wish Oh sure, earworm me why don't you. Nothing really occurs to me just now, I'm kinda grooving along these days. Remy could use some onscreen action of the fighty variety. . . .
If Only I definitely wish I would have had Gonzo perform on island before he crapped out on me. :(
Oopsie! Look, I've now played two characters named the exact same weird variation of "Eliot". I am so lucky there was the amount of time between those two that there was. I'm sure there's at least one Eliot Waugh post tagged with Eliot Spencer.

Fandom's In Trouble, Must Be Tuesday The Nothing was a thing of beauty. Also, the AU BDE. I miss the days when we all had that level of brain on the regular.
Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana? So there was this one time, WAAAAAY back in the day, in my FIRST SEMESTER in the game, when Nadia learned what haikus were and got stuck speaking in haiku to everyone. And it SPREAD. Everyone she talked to ended up haikuing back at her. Until she finally went to the clinic and not-Belthazor from Nip/Tuck was just like. "Yah, no." And she was cured. I'm not sure what we were on back then but it was something.
And Now, The Weather It should totally snow soap bubbles sometime. THINK OF THE CHAOS ON THE STAIRS.

Eliot and Raven were fuckin' FOUNDATIONAL to Kathy. Like...all that work you did on our zombification preplay and then you just wrote a wholeass series of posts of Raven wandering back through a post-apocalyptic America, just to turn around and work on MORE PREPLAYS to get her back?

You motherfucking champion you.

God, the Eliot/Kathy, the Hardison/Raven, the Eliot/Hardison/(+Parker!), the Kathy/Raven...our characters were so entwined and I loved every minute of it and miss you so, so much.

I think the clear answer here is that Remy and Arden need to spend WAY more time together. Because I miss it and you so much toooooooooooooooo! *clings*

Also in canon Kitty's enough of a nerd that she should probably know how to play D&D but I had so much fun with that game that I decided that's gonna be how she thinks it's played. Now she goes to a D&D party and decides she's gonna raise surprise zombies to win it.

We need to have another D&D game, clearly.

Then there was an Evil!Jamie Madrox who made a lot of people's lives miserable but hopefully in a fun way.
Annnd I'm blanking.
The 'I Just Have Something in My Eye!' category
The first scene in this game that really brought emotions up for me was when Tick had a funeral for his goldfish.
And when we did the nothing, there were a lot of characters who called and left their final voice mails for Jamie that just wrecked me.
The '360' Category
I feel like this happens to me all the time now.
I will say that during the first mixed up phone day, I sent out a voice mail from Marty that involved ferrets that took him a couple of weeks to get over.

I haven't had any big moments for my current crew yet. But that should be changing.

I'm not really doing anything where I want things to happen for my characters these days. I'm putting them in Fandom and watching what happens.
The 'If Only' category
I really wish real life hadn't happened my last go around with Fandom. I had plans for Jessica and The Defenders. I had plans for Barry but it all got sucked away from a work explosion and post Covid craziness.
The 'Welcome to the World of Tomorrow!' category
I'm moving Dean into more of a support role in the SPN world. Which I think is better than him dying in a barn
Someday I'd love Kamala to be a full-fledged Avenger but I'm not even close to thinking of that for her.
Yelena just started out and I'm just seeing what happens with her.

Reading this right after talking about the Kathy plot gives me a whole different take on whatever inside joke this is between the two of you.

It's not that complicated. I was playing Nadia Santos from Alias while the last season was airing and she gets KILLED OFF BY FALLING THROUGH A COFFEE TABLE.

And also just: "Francie doesn't like coffee ice cream."

(Alias hasn't aged the best, but man, it had some iconic season enders.)

Um. And I don't know why I wrote "Layla" instead of Nadia. I clearly did not have my coffee today.

See, and here I was just like "yep, Jaime and Layla were both probably hijinksy characters. . . ." And let it slip right on by. XD
