Meme: Questions

Oh my god I'm having the worst work week and my day blew up, please give me something to read. We did this last in May but I came up with a bunch of new questions because I'm a dork who does that.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will Wall-of-Text if they want to, look, I know how some of you are answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.


Questions might include "Which of your characters are you the most like?", "Which BDE was your favorite?", "What music do you RP to?", etc.

Check in throughout the day to add questions/answer questions that have been added!

Why did you choose your PBs?

Most of my currents are the actors that played them and thank god. Kitty I could have used Elliot Page for at the time (in retrospect I'm glad because I would feel disrespectful using those icons now) but he didn't fit the look of the canon I was bringing Kitty in from, so I paged through like every brown-haired girl on PB finder and settled. I'm happy with her now though.

I try for characters who match the way the characters look in my head or on the cover (which is why I'm dying over Adrian's, because they released the cover AFTERWARDS and he looks nothing like it). I spent forever trying to figure out who Arden's cover reminded me of (a mix of Natalie Emmanuel and Hannah John-Kamen), but Katie I looked at once and was like, "Oh, perfect. 10/10, no notes."

Most of my current ones don't need 'em, but Eleanor's was picked because of a fancasting on Tumblr that I could not unsee once I saw it. And with Summer, I've always kept an eye out for someone possibly but no one ever had the right vibe (okay, okay, there's been a few I considered, but they just didn't have enough photos where they wore PONYTAILS, UGH), and then the Olympics happened and I looked over and saw Kelly Chen playing volleyball and I'm just all "When did you get to the Olympics, Summer?" but I've been using just cartoon and comics icons for so long that it actually feels really weird still using them? So I just still use all the same ones despite really wanting to venture into new vibes because she's just not a teenager anymore.

I have also reconsidered repurposing a certain DnD avatar (iyky probably k) especially since I'm really limited with Kelly, too, but, again, there's just not enough fucking ponytails, BUT ALSO, like, character growth or whatever? IDK. It's something in flux right now.

Luckily I've never had to pick, as I've always done characters from live action. Though man do I regret that Marc and Steven only have like two outfits tops. I've gotten to the point where I'd use pictures of Oscar in other places if I could but it's hard to narrow it down to when he doesn't have a beard, then on top of that there's the thing where his default isn't Marc or Steven's facial expressions. Ah well. The things we do for character love.

So I knew who I wanted as Pam's PB from the jump. I just. Did not. Remember. Her name. I wound up sitting on the sofa with Corrie just loudly going through redheaded actresses and of course, when Evan Rachel Wood came up all I found were press shots that looked nothing like the image in my head, so I kept going...

Anyway it took me until I tripped over an old shot from True Blood to realize I'd had her in mind all along. Corrie was amused.

There's not really an exact science to it for me. I know what a character feels like to me and if I find a PB who fits that, I'll know. Though sometimes I'm lucky, like how Jesse's character design is based on the actress who plays her, and Remedy's even gone on to do some live action stuff with her so it was easy to PB her in-character.
