Administrative Announcement
Dear Players here at Fandom High:
Friday brought us several issues and your administration feels that a gentle reminder would be in order.
1. The cap on characters is four. That’s four total. Two students, one faculty and a townie. Two faculty, one student and a townie. Four townies….
Four.
If you have more than four, the administration will be asking you to please set up your extra characters for adoption. We have discussed this with several of you, and adoptions are currently in progress.
This also means that one character is allowed per enrollment. One. Once you have been accepted and have played for a term as either faculty or student, you may choose to offer a second character at the next enrollment. Please note that preference will be given at enrollment for new players… and that the December application acceptance is not open to current students/faculty unless you picked up a character through adoption. Then you will be allowed to submit an application.
2. Deleting your journal for any reason is a one-strike you’re out offense.
The logs in your journal, the responsibilities of your character, your responsibility as a player… all of these are removed, forcibly, when you delete your journal. It affects the other players and the game as a whole.
We will respect your decision to leave the game in this fashion by revoking your accesses, permanently. If you feel strongly enough to delete your journal, we feel strongly enough to remove your character.
There will be no negotiation on this topic.
3. Professor absences without prior arrangement, save in case of emergency, are unacceptable.
Faculty have been encouraged to find assistants or make arrangements for other professors to take their classes. It is allowable to make a notice that you’ll be gone for the week and to simply cancel classes, but we would greatly prefer that you find someone to hold your classes for you.
Simply disappearing, unless there is a true emergency, is unacceptable. If you are gone for more than a week without any sort of word, the administration reserves the right to replace you.
3a. Faculty without completed faculty information/application forms will be contacted on Monday and asked to rectify the situation.
4. The administration is here to serve you. Please allow them to do their job.
Any issue, large or small, can be addressed to the administrators. If they don’t know the answer, they will do their best to find out what it is or, as a last resort, consult and produce an official ruling on the issue if one does not exist.
We are here to be impartial. We are here to be fair. We are here to keep track of the trivia and the minutiae. We are here to make sure the game runs smoothly, not to take sides or make moral judgments. We are here to do the worrying and the agonizing so that you can concentrate on playing and having fun.
It is our job to keep track of the rules and the judgments. It is our job to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’. Please come to us for these things. Arbitration, the settling of disputes, the answering of questions… these are all a part of our job. These are the bailiwick of the administrator.
As a player, we would ask you to please not attempt to pass judgment on your fellow players. You can come to us, you can refer people with problems to us, you can ask us to make a ruling on an issue, you can bring your issues to us for consultation or just for an opinion.
As a player, it is not your job to step in and, if we feel your actions were unjustified, you will face disciplinary measures. Please bring your issues to us. That is what we are here for.
5. As to the above, please do not confuse In Character reactions with Out Of Character reactions or vice versa.
In Characters Actions result in In Character Consequences and these things must be worked out In Character. If this is not a condition that you are prepared to accept, it is probably a good idea to step away from the game.

Can current players put out a plea for certain characters from their fandom to enroll? And conversely, if all current players within a fandom agree that there is a character they don't want in the game, will that be an option?

The administration strongly discourages playing within your own fandom, simply because there are other games out there for that. This is a cross-over game, and the increasing tendency of some of the characters to clump together defeats the purpose.
Feel free to ask for other characters from your fandom, but please, please, please remember that this game is meant to mix your character with other fandoms.
As to the second part, no. We will bar no character from the game at the request of other players from the fandom. Period.
We may refuse characters in the application process as Mary Sues or overpowered or simple inability to fit in... but we will never bar a character simply because other players are against it.

How will new characters/players be asked to handle current FH canon? For example, in current Veronica Mars canon, Veronica is dating Duncan. But in FH canon that never happened. If someone enrolls Duncan, will they be expected to respect what has already been established as FH canon?
And I mean that in a broad, overall sense for all fandoms, just using my personal concern as an example. I would guess that other fandoms may have similar concerns and I would just like to know how that will be handled by the admins.

I also was curious as to when you'd be accepting new teachers. I was really, really happy with my one, sole, character. He was getting all kinds of attention and was going to all his classes, and I had no desire to teach. (I do that in real life, I don't need to do it in a game...) or so I thought. Then Cally and Anders opened their mouths and I so want to bring in a new teacher, from a completely unrepresented fandom. This would only be my second character.

Admin Stuff
See, you say things like this, and I want to start trouble. *wink* Crack that whip!
I do have to say, it can be very difficult to find a TA. I practically flashed my thong, but I didn't have any takers.
Also, for curiosity's sake, and you might not have decided this, but how will teachers be functioning next semester? Do they have to teach the same classes for different students, or will they be asked to come up with a new curriculum and class offerings, or will they be able to choose? I kind of like the idea of the latter - working out the kinks in the system this semester, I'd rather have a fresh slate so that I can hash out classes that would actually follow a realistic development of ideas through the course, instead of just making crap up as I go along.
I have such OCD. Thanks for your time.

Does this mean were frozen at our current number of characters within the school, unless we adopt one? Sorry, not clear on that. If I wanted to be another student, a new character, would that be possible if I only had one or two characters?
