meme: reverse questions with a twist!

I was already bored during a weirdly slow week at work, and then I accidentally typed a posting date as "10/10/8120" which for those keeping track is six thousand years in the future, and now I've screwed myself into a lot of time spent on hold to fix it.

Look, if you're gonna mess up, do it by a few millennia.

Pose a question (or as many as you'd like, and they don't all have to be in one comment, so you can come back later and add more if you want) to your fellow players about the game or their characters, and they will Wall-of-Text if they want to, look, I know how some of you are answer them. They can be personal or silly. You don't have to answer all of them! Nothing counts in game, of course and etc.

Questions might include "Which of your characters are you the most like?", "Which BDE was your favorite?", "What music do you RP to?", etc.

And we havent done this since February. Ping, please! Help meeeeee.

How do you handle pets? Do you like them? How do you go about choosing them?

I often find them a bit of a hassle (you always have to think about Where The Pets Are at any one point) but they're also useful characterisation tools sometimes.

Dante and his cats being a prime point. Back when he was still an unattached ne'er-do-well quietly dealing with his missing memories and his various issues while sleeping around the island, he befriended a feral cat and they would just hang out.

Then after he and Anders got together, one of the first serious things they did together was pick out an adorable, prissy little cat. It wasn't even consciously decided on as a Symbolic Moment, but it kind of is, in retrospect. It fits better with who he is now.

I mean, I apped in with the quokka? I love them. Then the chat created Dave and now Dave delights me with his grumpy little 'tude.

. . . I think for me, if the pet isn't canon (I've had at least one that is, after all) it's mostly a "this character needs an injection of cute" kind of thing. And for Cristina, she just literally needed something on the island she really cared about -- as well as being a canon joke most people here aren't going to get anyway (not that I've had Mrs. Rodriguez do much).

And, like. Eliot just needed a dog. He's settled in one place for the first time in, like, 20 years, you cannot tell me that in the post-canon OT3 paradise land most of Leverage fandom envisions for the trio that Eliot doesn't get a dog.

i don't know that I've ever given my own character a pet on purpose. I think I just like to keep my characters able to move around without worrying about their pets?

That said I loooove using Lucky and Rook, and Sia accidentally getting talked into keeping Vitor is one of the better things that's happened with her.

Seivarden needed someone to care about, so I felt like being nice and give her a cat, whose personality and appearance is a bit inspired by a cat I know. I love including Issa and using her as an excuse for Seivarden to do things. I can't say why, but I felt like a white fluffy cat was just right for Seivarden.

It's been a while since my characters have had pets, but it made sense with Seivarden.

Karla got a baby dinosaur and I realized how often I forgot Nemit existed and so I haven't had one since.

(But Kathy really wants a dog.)
