For anyone who's interested, I've set up an OOC AIM chat for those with the program. It's 'fandomhigh'.

IM me at morgainefire if you don't know how to get into a chat.

seen shuffling through the heart of downtown: pale creatures with wicked light in their eyes, possibly heading for the local high school, they look hungry...

And I always have IRL plans, dammit! Playing tommorow or ELSE! GAH!

Anyone who's up and bored or looking to coordinate for zombiefun, I'm continuing someone else's idea of a chat. On AIM, invite yourself to chat "fandomhigh" or contact me at Jyuu Chan to get invited.

Zombie Update

For those of you who tuned in late, the Zombie Battle for Fandom High is not yet over.

... in fact, it's barely begun.

It will continue sporadically throughout the day and, somewhere around 1800 CST there will be a giant army of zombies shambling across campus to prepare for the mass chaos grand finale. Zombies, zombies everywhere.

This thing was arranged to run for 24 hours so that everyone who wanted to participate could. The dorms are sacrosacnt. Those who want to indulge in more or less normal play with NO ZOMBIES may continue there.

The zombies are free for the using and abusing as you so chose, but be aware that not all of them are the staggering type. Some can run fairly quickly. They've also demonstrated an ability to open doors and break windows. You can let them chase you, lure them into traps, blow them up, flee screaming, drop things on them... whatever makes you and your character happiest.

So. Zombie free for all till this evening when their numbers will be huge and they shall roll across campus like a rather disgusting wave. For those of you who are not into zombies, there is an end in sight.

The dorm will remain unmolested due to strong spiritual and magical wards.

In the meantime, have a snack and support your yearbook. Watch 80s movies in River's dorm. Help fortify the library. Visit the giant squid. Start a zombie shooting gallery. Above all... enjoy yourself.

It would be kind of snazzy, in a way, to keep the 'fandomhigh' AIM chat going constantly.

Just to be able to, like, chat. Not about the game always, just sort of slacking off, too, like other games that have either OOC IRC channels or AIM chats just for the players.

That'd be an extra level of communication between us. I know I'm pretty good friends with [livejournal.com profile] ten_and_chips-mun now, and that'd be shiny to do with more people.

Can ping me at pseudelight if you want an invite.

I'm going to break the rule about posts that belong on this board, but I think I'll be forgiven. I know there were several players who either were forced to evacuate from Hurricane Rita or were feeling the effects of it at their homes. I'd like to ask for anyone with information to post here: let us know if you're okay, or if you've heard from someone who had to evacuate, etc.

Hi guys. We've got a ton of stuff going on, and there are so many posts and really long threads that it's getting hard for people to keep up.

Here's how it's normally handled:

Open your favorite text editor (word/notepad/whatever macs use)
Start a post.
Copy and paste the comments to that post into the text editor.
When you get more than, say 10, comments, post "Pausing" and edit the original post by cutting and pasting the text into the original post.
Delete the comment thread.
Start a new comment thread.

Wash, rinse, repeat. That keeps the amount of posts down, allows people to have one place to catch up on things, and allows for better and more consistent gameplay.

If you have an IM client, I highly suggest using it. It makes it easier to keep track of what's going on and who's posting, so there are no crossing threads. The general rule is: When commenting, announce "Posting" and when you're done, announce "Posted". That way, you can keep the comments in one thread.

Please remember, when doing this, to use lj-cuts.

This will help alleviate the amount of posts happening, and the amount of comments building up per post.

Thanks.
