Greetings, Alumni!

As you'd all know, Friday was the last day for Alumni to stay on the island without being part of an approved project. Those of you who are TA'ing don't have to worry about this! (At least, not until next term, where you'll need to find a new TA'ship or join in the approved fun.)

An approved project is either a job in town, or the summer projects. The major one will kick off in a few weeks, but until then, it's park renovation time! The Fandom Town park will be getting something of a makeover - some new paths, new gardens, fountains, and maybe a little jetty into the lake. We won't be doing the whole park, so there will still be plenty of room to use it for parkish things in day to day gameplay.

Alumni need to ping into the project once a week to stay in the game. Those alumni who have jobs need to post them regularly to stay (alumni working in town will stay alumni, though, not become townies).

Regardless of whether they're working in town, working on the project, or TA'ing, the last day alumni can be on the island is August 28, 2008.

Questions, comments, teeny flowering vines that are perfect as groundcover?

Here, resting next to picturesque Mont Saint-Michael, there are intermittent showers interspersed with sunny periods, with temperatures between 57F (14C) - 62F (17C), and north easterly winds of up to 6 mph.

So we've been to Greece and Mont Saint-Michel now, but at 10:30pm FHT the island's leaving Europe and has settled in the cove of a mysterious South Pacific island. Don't bother looking for it on a map, it's not there, but the natives call the island Bali Ha'i.

Two volcanoes loom over a paradise of green trees, white sand, and blue water though the peaks of the volcanoes are rarely visible through the low-hanging mist. There are caves riddling the island, and easily explorable coral reefs lie just under the turquoise water of the ocean.

There are several small villages on the island though usually few visitors. The strangest thing is that none of the people who live on the island are surprised to see Fandom appear just off the coast of their home.

The causeway links to a tropical beach on the island though Alexandria is still accessible through the portal at the end of the causeway just as it has been before.
