Also, a note about your general island surroundings - As of this point on, those who are walking in the preserve might notice that the trees are looking a little less healthy than usual. Peeling bark, dropping brown needles to the forest floor. Very occasionally, one might even drop a branch or two that it just can't support anymore.
No big deal, right? It's been a rough winter, after all.
