Get your candles and flashlights ready, folks! The island is going to suffer a thunderstorm on Friday afternoon that will knock out the power (and the internet! My God!) for Friday and all of Saturday, just in time to make your Halloween a bit spookier. What are those thunking noises: ghosts? Ghouls? Gremlins stuck in your closet?

Fireplaces will pop up in common rooms and apartments so it doesn't get too nippy, but the lights will be out in the streets, and Chilly Boulder will be having one heck of a sale before their stock melts. So prepare your food on a stick recipes and think of all of your best campfire stories about that guy with the hook for a hand who likes to kill teenagers making out in the woods...
