With a hat-tip to Shannon for the idea, and the language, which I am summarizing like a BOSS:
We all know and love the weekends were we wake up different--in a soap opera, as a small, hyperactive child--and go about the day like there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Only next Tuesday, October 31, instead of waking up as a kid or an older version of themselves, you're waking up as your typical Halloween monster version of themselves. Vampires, werewolves, mummies, Frankenstein's monster... essentially, if you're likely to hear about them in the Monster Mash song or see them in movies like Halloweentown or Hotel Transylvania, they're fair game for people to wake up as.
Lives would be basically business as usual, but with an appropriate monstery twist for the day: eating bugs instead of breakfast cereal; having to get a good zap from a bolt of lightning in order to wake up with an 'IT'S ALIIIIVE;' turning into a bat to make one's way to their daily class; with the added bonus of it also happening to be the most important holiday of the monster year, and whatever excitement Halloween might bring to a town populated by monsters.
The island will behave itself accordingly as well, spending the entire day in darkness so that nobody would have to miss out on the Halloween fun for fear of being burned to a sizzle by the sun.
Questions, comments, Monster Mash flashdance requests?
