The island is still in winter holiday mode! Here's what's going to be happening this week:

Sunday, December 7th: Much like an advent calendar, every time you open a door in Fandom, you might just find a piece of chocolate behind it.

Monday, December 8th: The common rooms will have warm cookies and milk for your enjoyment all day long.

Tuesday, December 9th: Every PA system and radio in Fandom will play Christmas music non-stop until that evening's radio broadcast. You can turn your radios off, and mod what's being played.

Wednesday, December 10th: It's going to rain tinsel. EVERYWHERE. Damn static cling gets it everywhere too.

Thursday, December 11th: The streets of Fandom will be overrun with rickshaws filled with the town's rarely-seen, yet moddable NPCs out doing their holiday shopping. Here's hoping no one has to get anywhere in a hurry!

Friday, December 12th: Fandom's first snowstorm of the year! The catch? The snow is really powdered sugar. Mmmmm.

Saturday, December 13th: Mistletoe will be finding its way to the doorways of Fandom today. But beware: if you and someone else get underneath it and don't kiss, it'll start getting pushy - quite literally. You can mod your own mistletoe and how pushy it gets.

Just like last week, these events are open to alumni and expatriates as well, however applicable they might be. Any questions/comments/cookies?

Happy Sunday, Fandom! On this "the RNG loves me, apparently" edition of Spotlight on Fandoms we'll be taking a trip to Dog River, Saskatchewan -- yes, that's in Canada -- "forty kilometres from nowhere and way beyond normal." Please watch the traffic on our one four-way stop (we don't truck with that street light nonsense here) and if you see an old man in a green baseball cap behind the wheel, get out of the way as fast as you can. Anyone here from the neighboring town of Wullerton? If you are, best not to mention it. Best not to mention Wullerton at all, actually; everyone here spits at the name. It's reflex.

Since we are out in the middle of the prairies (wow, it sure is flat), you've probably noticed that old wooden grain elevator on the edge of town, right by the two-lane highway. Tallest building in Dog River. And if you've noticed the grain elevator, you've probably noticed that gas station sign next to it too -- the yellow and green one with the red letters. That's our destination. I'm Shanie, and i'll be your tour guide today as we head into the world of Corner Gas.

I'm using the holidays as an acceptable excuse for my recent trip on the Failboat with detention! But, either way, the ship's in harbour now, so time to get back on track!

Please let up know if you're available for a detention, would like to be PaperWork Error'd into one, or would like to run a future one!

Ooooooooookay, Sam here with the Spotlight on Fandoms: The Dark Knight edition. Now, I know, you might think this is sort of redundant considering the movie just came out over the summer and it made almost a billion dollars (it'll pass a billion, most likely) and everyone and their mother went to see it. But you know what? I don't care. It's the goddamn Batman and he demands your attention.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2005 Christopher Nolan (director of Memento and The Prestige) gave the Batman series a much-needed reboot. Yes, we needed it. Did you really want Batman's last movie to be Batman and Robin? I didn't think so. With Batman Begins Nolan stayed far, far away from the campiness of previous Batman films and gave the series a much darker background. He took elements from some Batman comics (most notably Batman: Year One) to re-tell how Bruce Wayne became the Caped Crusader. The movie kicked ass and made a ton of money and a sequel was quickly put into the works. That sequel is The Dark Knight, which takes place a year after Batman Begins.
