I’m late. My first ‘Spotlight’ and I’m late! So sorry!

Okay, uhm, so the Powerpuff Girls Z (Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z) is a Japanese anime remake/homage to the American show, The Powerpuff Girls.

The Powerpuff Girls was an original Cartoon Network series that began airing in 1998. It was about three 5-year-old girls created by a scientist who was trying to create the 'perfect little girl' out of "sugar, spice, and everything nice." Unfortunately (for the bad guys) he accidentally spilled some Chemical X into the mixture and the three sisters were "born" with superpowers. They live in the City of Townsville, which happens to be next to Monster Island, where the giant invading monsters come from. There are also a few resident monsters in town, like Mojo Jojo – a former lab monkey turned criminal super genius thanks to a Chemical X accident of his own, and Fuzzy Lumpkins, a pink crazy banjo-playing hermit, as well as non-monsters that just commit crimes and make it hard for the idiot Mayor to keep being re-elected.

The show was really cool, don’t let anyone tell you different. This is probably why they decided to re-make it into an anime.

The Powerpuff Girls Z is an alternate reality from the original Powerpuff Girls. Literally. There is an episode where the Z-girls' time machine (Yes, a time machine. There's plot for it, don't worry!) goes wonky and they end up in an alternate dimension and we watch as the original Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup fly past and fight an invading monster. They even comment on it. :)

Japan kicks it up a notch! )

Roll Call! )

Others who are important but this is long enough already )

Is it really an awesome series? )

I am a tease: )

Want to watch? )

Sorry, again, for the delay. Man, these things are harder to write up than I thought. Hope that this is good enough to make you watch it! *wiggles fingers mystically* Come to the crack side.

Good gravy, it's almost 2010. SCARY. Anyway, time for teachers and hopeful townies to toss us their potential classes for next semester!

Do you Need This Form?

  • If you are a current teacher, just read the rest and fill out the form below.
  • If you are a current teacher wanting to move to townie status (not teach anymore), please email us and let us know and we'll go from there.
  • If you are a current townie wanting to become a full-time teacher, please email us and let us know and we'll go from there.
  • If you know how to cook Hot Pockets correctly, please email us and we'll forward your information onto Sam so she can learn.
  • New teacher characters should fill out the regular application form and ignore this post entirely

What's Needed for a Class:

  • The ability to come up with 15 weeks worth of classes (14 + exam week with a 1 week break in the middle)
  • The ability to post the workshop by 12pm PST the day it's scheduled (you can post the night before)
  • The ability to interact with your students (slow play is fine, you don't need to be around all the time)

Stay Classy, Fandom! )

Remember, not hearing from us right away is good, but we will email current/returning teachers to let them know their class works for us around at the same time as we send out final decisions on character apps.

Your teacher character's form will need to be in these comments by Friday, December 20, 2009 for great scheduling justice.
