New Townie, and Town Classifieds Update!

First, everybody give a warm welcome to our newest townie, who needs all the body heat he can get: Eric Northman (texted3times) from True Blood/Southern Vampire Mysteries who'll be *cough* re-vamping ye olde Devil's Nest nightclub!

Second, time to catch up with who has job openings, where our new grown-ups can settle in and where our old ones have shifted, as well as any changes to your business info you'd like to make.

Please take a look through the OCD threads within, and if it applies to you, let us know. If it doesn't, just leave some pretty for our new Nordic prince!

New Year's Eve and Class Sign-Ups

Part the first: Fandom residents current and former are invited to spend New Year's Eve 2010 drinking, dancing, and skating the night away on Fandom island! Bring your boots and fuzzy coats, because this year's New Year party will be happening outside in the park, with snow-person decor, bonfires, thermoses of hot chocolate (with or without peppermint schnapps) and ice-skating on the frozen-over duck pond!

Alumni and expatriates are welcome to arrive on the island anytime on Friday, December 31st, and head home anytime on Saturday, January 1st! (Neither of those days will count towards the monthly five days on-island for those folks.)

Part the second: Don't forget that class sign-ups end tomorrow, December 30th, at 11:59pm Eastern! So, now's your last chance to sign up, swap classes, and all that jazz.

The Newbie Shuttle Cometh!

Newbie shuttle time is indeed at hand! Along with, of course, the newbies. Using the text previously stolen by decoder_rings, who stoleth from wantstodirect...

Our local airport (BWI) has a Portalocity (interdimensional travel service) port and lounge. Students can arrive by either plane or portal and gather in the lounge until a bus from Fandom shows up to take them to the island. This is completely optional; your new characters are still welcome to arrive on the island in any manner you choose.

What we need: One new student character to put up the post and OCD, and at least one teacher or adult to drive the bus and greet the students. Traumatizing them before they reach the island is optional. The post should be made Saturday night sometime between 4pm-6pm Eastern, but be set for Sunday morning (before the picnic).

Newly arriving students are welcome to join the post and get to know a few of their fellow newbies before actually getting to the island. New teachers are welcome to grab a lift as well. Check out the links above if you want to read previous newbie shuttle posts.
