Hey there! Special announcement for y'all.

Applications for the next term were meant to close at midnight last night/this morning, as mentioned in the original announcement and the reminder earlier this week, but we've just realized there was a typo on the FH profile page that showed a later date, which could have caused some confusion.

So to make sure nobody misses out, we're extending the deadline until tonight at 11:59 Pacific. If you've got a student or teacher app (especially teachers!) burning a hole in your GDocs, now's the time to get those babies in.

The BDE deadline for signing up for Team Help With SKIENCE (Jane and Hermione's initial group), Team Detective (the Arkham and Miskatonic group), the Finale Defenders (Science/Magic and Fighters) and Finale: Crazy Friends Turned Monsters is tomorrow at 11:59PM Eastern Time.

The island is having another random event all day Thursday, July 28th: we will be invaded by storks carrying blankets full of...well, pet rocks. The storks are slightly confused about what was supposed to be in the blankets, traditionally speaking. They will be following people around, trying to deliver their packages, sitting on rooftops, leaving piles of stork poo behind...

And finally, early applications close on Friday, July 29th. You qualify is your application falls into one of the following categories:

a) Student applications where the player does not have a current student
b) Teacher applications where the player has not previously played a teacher
c) Applications from new players to the game

We will consider it and, if there are any issues with it, will get back to you by August 2nd to give you a chance to make changes. Players in this situation will then have five days to make any changes and re-submit their application.

Forms for classes for next summer's session are due by Saturday, June 18th.

Sign-ups for big siblings for the new students and teachers ends Sunday, June 19th.

Second session summer plans for students/graduates who are leaving or returning to the island are also due Sunday, June 19th.

And *drumroll* your second session summer applications are also due by 11:59PM Pacific Time on Sunday, June 19th.

Oooh, one more! The next Open Forum will be Saturday, June 25th.

Get those ideas brewing, break out the RNG, ask friends to pick a character for you, pray to the deity of your choice to help you decide who to app. Of if you're the type to already have your app half-written, Thanksgiving is a great time to avoid your family and work on perfecting it!

There's been some completely justified uncertainty about what to do and fill out if you'd like to bring an alumnus/ex-pat back or shift from one on-island position to another.

We've discussed it and come up with a set of transfer guidelines (linked on the

fandomhigh user-info now) that should cover all the possibilities! (Until some smarty-pants throws a scenario at us that we didn't think of.)

We wanted to get the info out there while apps are still open (psst - they close on the 20th) in case it applies to anyone's plans for the next session, so here it is!

In case you missed it, applications for the spring semester are officially open, and on a specific note, the librarian position is open again. If you'd like to apply for a character for this position, they should be classified as a "teacher" on the application form, but instead of a course description, tell us how your character is specifically suited for the position, and any ideas you have for better serving the school and town. Current adult characters may also apply for this position -- if that's the case, this is the only section of the application you need to fill out, besides name, rank, and serial number.
