I've just got in from class and every time I try to read the slumber party threads, either the browser or my computer crashes. I'm exhausted so I'm giving up and going to bed. However, please feel free to make use of D'anna's cameras, or say she was there though very late if you want. She wore boxers, a tank, flips-flops and short robe, and brought two bottles of Ambrosia with her. I'll tray to catch up tomorrow.

In the same vein as 2ls_in_oneill, I just wanted to put out a quick, early morning thank you to those that played along with the whole girlcrichton (the "boys" and the "girls") thing and made me laugh and laugh and laugh. I've spent the last two days in a perpetual state of laughter because of this place and that was only one of the highlights.

So here's what I was thinking, since I'm reopening enrollment again in a couple of weeks -- on a limited basis, because eighty students in one day like last time? GYAH. (I may just make it twenty new students a month at the most, first come, first serve ... either that or simply enough to replace anyone who doesn't want to play anymore.)

I know that a lot of people have characters they want to see in the game but don't have the time to play. And I know that a lot of characters haven't been playing much or at all. (And hopefully, I'll have a week off between moving and starting a new job so that I can go through and email people to see if they're still up to playing.)

In any event, until then, I was thinking that what might really be a good idea for those of us who already have a few characters in the game (but can't stop thinking about other characters we'd love to play even though the characters we already have take up enough of our free time ... *selfconscious cough*) is a wish list of characters we'd like to see in the game.

I mean, heck, the rest of us have had our brains eaten by this place. Why not do it to other people?

Since LJ has seen fit to eat my memories and everything I had stored there is gone, including my links to the dorm room assignments.

I saw that I was assigned a room (502) by ms_thomasina but then there was a recent post by the other dorm mothery person and my name was not next to room 502. I commented asking about it.

Two lists...I'm not sure which to believe and I am not finding any response to the second more recent post about the omission in my gmail account.

Is there a final updated list of dorm assignments? Any ideas where I can find it? There are no links from the bio page of the comm and no memories (unless LJ ate them too).

Haven't done a lot to the website proper... I just don't have any real content to add beyond a quick runthrough on teachers and syllabi (which is for this weekend).

I am, however, working on a PHP/mySQL interface that will allow for a searchable student database. Pretty keen, no?

Also, I need to know where all the syllabi and office hours are located. Is there a masterlist?

Do we have a visual for campus yet? If not, I submit these shots (there are more if needed) of Harlaxton College, in Grantham, Lincolnshire, England. You might recognise the outside of the building from the movie The Haunting. I attended Harlaxton (like my parents before me and grandparents after me) and fell in love with the manor and grounds. The manor house is plenty big enough for our 300 students and faculty, and we would be able to live and attend classes in the same building. (Not that it matters if we don't, because, well, y'know, fictional characters and stuff, but still, it could be cool.)

Questions for you RE: fandom_radio

fandom_radio's been up for almost a week now, and I just wanted to thank everyone for their very positive response to the idea so far.

The community serves both as a way for people (both muns and non-fandomhighers) to catch up with what's been going on in fandomhigh for the day and as a source of entertainment for the characters. Barbossa gets to go to class, gets to talk to students about what he was saying about them on the radio the night before, etc., and that's half the reason his character is fun.

I want to find out exactly which threads you all want considered fair game for the radio station. I've been avoiding threads that are marked as private or just for certain characters to be able to read (even if it says "open to everyone but Anakin Skywalker," or something), as well as generally avoiding any conversations dealing with medical history or guidance sessions. This makes fandom_radio less comprehensive for muns who might not have been following, for example, the Angelus Sooper Sekrit Plot of Nefariousness, but is more in character for what Barbossa might be able to learn about.

Also, as I decided to do this when there weren't, um, 100 postings a day to the various communities, I would also be most grateful for anyone who would be willing to help out. Even one day a week would be wonderful (and you don't have to write it in pirate, I swear.).

I'd be very interested in any other suggestions you might have as well!

I've had the "my character's place in canon" description up on my info page since I started, but I recently added a decently thorough explanation of what alchemy is, what it can and can't do, and what Roy typically does with it: http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=alchemy_4_arson

So if you want to know what a transmutation array is, why Roy is always carrying chalk in his pockets, or what the character is capable-of ability-wise, you can check it out. Alchemy for Roy Mustang is the same as it is for Edward (alchemic_bean), except that Ed doesn't have to draw a transmutation circle, he simply has to clap his hands and concentrate. This is extremely rare, and requires an explanation way too long and detailed for RP purposes-- suffice to say the circle guides the transmutation, and Ed had divine/demonic knowledge crammed in his brain that allows him to do it instinctively without needing a circle.

For the people doing big plots with a very specific number of people? Could you guys maybe watch how many new posts you're spawning off? It gets hard for those of us who aren't able to check the board frequently to catch up, especially when a third of the posts are for one plot by the same six or seven people.

See the poker game for an example of how they're keeping a thread neat and tidy and saving our sanity...

So not trying to pick on or single anyone out. But my brain likes organization, and it's having trouble with the clutter.
