How bad would it screw with the game if I bought a rename token? This login bugs me every time I type it, as it is both long and confusing. But I can stick with it if changing it would make things harder on everyone else, especially the beloved mods.

If buying one is okay, I would pick the options that would redirect [livejournal.com profile] call_me_red_ac links to the new journal, to limit confusion.

Thanks.

[ETA: The old login was call_me_red_ac]

[livejournal.com profile] fandomtownies is now at the top of my list for application/enrollment revamps as well as re-opening for new members. I have an application and application process for you as well as a few other thoughts and modifications.

Can you contact me ASAP? Otherwise, I'm just going to begin making changes.

All right. Apparently there is some confusion as to time and the state of play here at [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh

The classes have schedules for a reason and, unless a specific class is clearly stated as 'chronofluid' you cannot be in two places at once. Period. There have been a few field trips that also muck with the flow of time, again clearly labeled.

You, being a real person, are allowed to post in most classes whenever your schedule permits over the course of that day. Your character, however, is tied to the constraints of their schedule. You cannot be in plot B and class A at the same time. You cannot be in player X's bedroom while out drinking with player Y and spying on player Z in the undergrowth.

This is why so many of the posts are clearly labeled as to time of day and place. Your character cannot, save when adjusting for specific classes and field trips, be in two places at once unless it is in their canon to do so. Please keep these limitations in mind.

Slow-timing, save in the case of off-campus field trips, off-campus events, people in opposite time-zones, extremely large school events or emergency is strongly discouraged. This is because many people are slow-timing one thing while proceeding with other things and playing over the top of themselves. As this is occasionally producing plot difficulties, we would ask that you try to keep things as much in real time as possible. Yes, there will be exceptions... but do NOT have your character doing more than one thing at a time if you can avoid it. If you have to slow time something while doing something else... put the priority on the slow-time and finish it.

Clarification of the above: People in time zones not shared by the bulk of the school are still free to do whatever they have to in order to play. They are allowed slow-timing as it is the only reasonable way they can sometimes get things done.

There has been some resentment expressed over people with multiple characters who are slow-timing one thing while keeping up with real time with their other characters. Try to keep an even balance people, and save slow-time for when you really, really need it.

Addendum: School policy is no ret-conning or backdating. If it didn't happen on time... it didn't happen. Period. Please be aware of this, as offenders may very well be shot.

Okay, I had to go downtown today, which left me much closer to a CompUSA than is safe for my credit card.

So, since Shep's Sims are more popular than he is [g], I actually went and bought the damn game. And a couple of expansion packs.

Now I can post screen grabs. :)

The way I figure I'll use this is to set up two houses. One will purely be Shep's. The other will be the stealable/borrowable set that I will let players interacting with Shep god-mod (as much as you can with a Sim) whenever they get ahold of his laptop.

For the time being, I'm only going to set them up on my desktop (I so don't need this kind of temptation/distraction at work) so if I'm ever playing on my laptop from the road or whatever, I won't have access to them. But for now, I'm going to set up a post on the dorm comm for anyone who wants to help me set up the community house. (Cally? Beka? Dr. J?) I got the big ass starter pack (Sims, Livin' Large, Hot Date and... something else - they're across the room) and - get this - the Magic pack. Yes, I'm gonna have Magical/Magickal Sims.

Which leads me to...

If you don't want your character mocked up in the Sims, please leave a note below. (For that matter, if you do want your character mocked up in the Sims please leave a note below.) Cally burnt down the neighborhood a while back, so I'm thinking that since Shep has to start over he is gonna have a good time with his new FH friends. [g]

Jake asked Beka and Phoebe to do a relationships gossip and advice column. Beka's currently in the Journalism classroom putting together a list of stuff she saw at Homecoming and is getting some help from Angelus and Duce on who else was there and with whom. Some of the people she 'saw' she did not interact with, just saw that they were present. Here are her current notes, with her sources:

Seen (Together) at Homecoming

- [B saw]: Cam and Vala [dancing], what happened to Kara?
- [B saw]: Lee [drinking], what happened to Veronica?
- [via Angelus]: Angelus and Lisa, what's going on there? According to A: Angelus put to rest all rumors of his evil evil playboy ways at the dance the other evening by behaving like a goofy-in-love innocent schoolboy with date Lisa Cuddy.
- [via Duce]: Jake, and...Alex (Krycek?)
- [via Duce]: Duce and Oz (don't know him, do I?)
- [B saw]: Ten and CJ
- [B saw]: Phoebe... and Bel, did they work it out?
- Shep and me
- [B saw]: Aeryn and John seem to be getting over the big hurdle
- [via Duce]: Paige and Geoff, Maia and Ms. Sidle, Scooter and Red, and Dr. House and Dr. Wilson.

If you don't want your character mentioned or have limitations on what can be said, let me know. If you do want your character mentioned and they aren't in the list, let me know and we can arrange a way for Beka to find out.

Jake-mun has gotten permission for the column, so I think if I or Phoebe-mun has time, it'll be a regular feature. If that's the case, I'll do this for each issue and muns can use it to let me know what's mockable, reportable, etc and what's not.

After much deliberation, I will be offering @fandomhigh.com forwarding e-mail accounts to the student body. These are forwarding accounts. They do not store mail.

The structure is set at first.last@fandomhigh.com except in the case of single name characters in which case it's just name@fandomhigh.com.

If you would like one, please specify which e-mail acount you would like it to forward to in the comments below. Comments will be screened.

If you are faculty, you can still get your choice of a full, storing account or a forwarding account. Please comment below with your preference (full or forwarding) and an e-mail that you can be contacted at for a full account or forwarded to for the forwarding account.

Again, comments are screened.
