The votes have been tallied, the red carpet has been laid out at the Staples center and the entire cast has come out for the award ceremony. Starr Jones is asking what everyone is wearing. Joan Rivers just sold her daughter to a white slavery ring just to get a free facelift. And Kathy Griffin is making fun of everyone.

Everyone has their photo taken on the red carpet as they go inside and Marty steps up to the podium after the ridiculously overstaged musical number performed by Steve Perry. (All we could afford...)

"Hey everyone. It's my honor to read off the results of the first Fandom High Awards. Please come forward and accept your award when your name is called off. You have thirty seconds to thank everyone you know before the music starts playing to get you off the stage. Oh... and Starr Jones asks that you tell us 'who' your wearing if that's not too much trouble"

Just the results please )

Thanks everyone for participating. Let me know if you want this done in another month.

I hate making these, I really, really do. Mostly it's because 90% of you are good, strong players who are respectful of each other and obey the rules and are just here to have a good time. I am so very proud of how smoothly this game runs and how well such a large number of people are playing together. Partly, I hate doing this because it takes a lot of time away from my students and my classes and they deserve my attention, damn it.

However, it's coming time for me to put the hammer down on a number of issues.

Please note, it is non-compliance with these issues that is preventing Townies from being re-opened for application and continues to shove future student enrollment back.

1. All players, Faculty, Students and Townies must have their character's full name, fandom and valid e-mail listed on their info page. An AIM would also be appreciated, but is not required and you may not have an AIM name instead of a valid e-mail.

Please note, with [livejournal.com profile] flinkmeister's generous offer here, there is no reason not to have a listed e-mail.

2. I haven't received completed information forms from a number of the Faculty and there are still Faculty pages with no listed subject, syllabus, schedule, office hours, voice mail.... Please see [livejournal.com profile] abe_no_seimei, [livejournal.com profile] drgrissom and [livejournal.com profile] equalsmcsquared's info pages for various ways in which this information can be made available to your students. Faculty are also required to have an e-mail/voice-mail link set up and/or office hours.

After October 10, if you do not have accuracte contact information on your character info page, your access to the game communities will be suspended until you do. The same goes for faculty who do not have the basic outline of subject taught and a way for students to find schedule and syllabus information.

I did not want it to come to this and it actually creates more work for me in the short run, but I've tried asking politely, I've tried reminders and it comes down to the fact that apparently some of you can't take 'because it would be helpful to your fellow players, smooth things out for the admin and the game at large as well as a very considerate thing to do' as an answer and actually require some form of punishment before grudgingly granting cooperation.

This isn't any fun for me either, guys. I'd much prefer to be working with my students or thinking up amusing class projects. My idea of a good time is not to be sick in bed with my laptop and, instead of being able to play, having to hunt down the people who are holding the various enrollments and further evolution of the game back.

So please. Carry through with the requested information. It should take you five to ten minutes tops to alter your info page so that other players can find the information that they need.

Thank you.

Just a heads-up on the "Shipping News" gossip clearances I/Beka have received for Homecoming.

Permissions list )

If your Homecoming partner isn't on this list, I've asked them. If I don't hear from them before I have to give Jake-mun the column, I'll stick to "was seen at the dance with". It's Beka's column, it's IC, so it's going to stick to what she knows or can imply, rather than being an OOC wrap of who did what with whom.

At [livejournal.com profile] fhightimes. Newspaper crew, behind the scenes crew and TPTB, please check your invites. The rest of you, feel free to friend, and hopefully the Election issue will be published tomorrow.

Remember the newspaper is open for non-Journalism students as well, and if it's out of character for your character to volunteer, Chloe and Jake would be glad to hunt your character down and make them contribute.

Behind the scenes crew would be welcome as well (especially if you have mad graphic skillz).

ETA: Membership for the comm is limited to the newspaper crew, Jerusalem and the Dean at time being, as we will be using the comm for rough drafts and suchlike.

Last week someone posted a link to a Firefox Extension that allowed for multiple logins, which I found very helpful on my office computer. I'd like to isntall the extension on my home computer, but I can't seem to locate the original post, nor can I seem to find any reference to the extension itself on the Firefox website. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance! :)

I'm in the process of defriending everyone but Spider and Principal Connor so as to make the poll numbers tomorrow private until the results are posted on Wednesday.

On Monday morning, Dean Bristow will post the official Student Election poll in his own journal, with a link in the fandomhigh comm pointing the way. Each student has a vote. Teachers do not vote. Townies do not vote. Any attempts by either to do so will be disqualified.

Write-in Candidates: It is suggested that you do some hard campaigning between now and the poll time, as your name will not appear in the post (as is the burden of all write-ins).
